So I was thinking about this Titan drop suit and how I would like it be designed if they decide to add one. Here are my thoughts on how to make it a unique point defense slow moving heavy weapons drop suit.
Its a long read so too bad nut up.
Here are my thoughts on what the suits characteristics should be before post gameplay balancing. Balancing of the suit should be based around corp battles of 16v16 or greater not off of pug match gameplay.
----Movement and size Firstly it should move very slowly I was thinking a speed of around 2.00 or 1.50 with no ability to sprint and can only perform 2 jumps on a full stamina bar and no "hops" on a empty one. That is about less then half the speed of regular heavy dropsuit. It should turn at 1/2 to 1/4 the rate of the current heavy dropsuit. (can turn a little faster when standing still) It should be about 1/2 times to 1/3 bigger then a regular heavy suit. It does not fit in tanks or LAV's and takes 2 slots in a dropship. A logistics LAV can equip a module allowing it to carry a Titan dropsuit on the hood via a magnetic clamp but the suit lays on the hood and cannot turn or move/shoot while attached. It also takes a few seconds to clamp and unclamp the titan suit. If the LAV blows up the titan suit takes heavy damage but does not blow up with the lav. The logistics LAV moves at half speed while the titan suit is onboard. It cannot climb ladders (wont fit its arms and legs can barley move) or it climbs at 1/4 to 1/2 normal speed
Pictures I stole from the internet for reference Here are examples of its scale 1 2 Here are examples of how it might look 1 2 -----Weapon systems It should not be able to use normal sized grenades, light weapons or side arms on account of its increased hand size not being compatible with those weapon systems. However It can dual wield Titan versions of the heavy weapons mounted into the arms of the suit. They use the same skills as the regular hmg/forge but cost more ISK and have different models to fit the suit. They do the same damage as well. It does not reload its heavy weapons as it has a internal feeding system or it reloads from the internal feeding system. you can use dual of each weapon or split it 1 arm HMG 1 arm forge. (I am not really concerned about the reloading thing as the current heavy DS right now seems to pull drums of ammo from under his skirt :P) really, where do those drums come from?
Attributes It has a base health around 1000-1500(would require someone more skilled in that sort of balancing to figure out) Sidearms do reduced damage against it as well as normal grenades. Takes reduced damage from the front from all infantry weapons (how much I do not know, enough to make it a dumb way to try to take it down) Cannot use equipment. Hacks at half or quarter speed if at all (not its role does not have the quality equipment for it or does not have the equipment). has a decent amount of low and high slots. Its super expensive for a dropsuit It cost a lot of SP to spec into (double or 1/3 more reg heavy dropsuit)
Role Heavy assault of dug in infantry locations and point deference of installations - tight areas where a HAV and a MAV(Mtac) would not be able to fit or operate properly.
Feel free to make comments on my idea for the suit I cant tell you how balancing will go as that is something that would have to happen on the field and go from there better to make it underpowered at first and then push its way up to where it should fit in.
Please stay on topic and if you have your own radial idea on how you would like the suit make your own tread don't derail/flood mine please, but if you have particular points or would like things changed or edited please comment so i could consider/add them.
"This is a MAV!" comment that is likely to come. I assume the MAV will be for combat and will probably have around 4k ish health or something to start. it will of course fit between the LAV and the HAV and I can see it being about as tall as a tank and "piloted" from a cockpit. My idea for this suit was that it is about as big as you can go and still fit the legs in the legs and the arms in the arms and go in personnel doors and other infantry installations. Where as a MAV would be just to big that sort of combat.
Edit: By MAV i mean Mtac btw |

Saved for Edits and stuff Scale and look Hunter Junko had a good pic of the suits possible scale
Differences to a MTAC Jotun Hiem shows a good picture of how a MTAC mech is fundamentally different from a large dropsuit (see how the pilot is separated from the legs and arms by a significant amount and more or less "sits and does not have a armored "head" as he is fitted internally to the veh as apposed to have the suit layered ontop of him as with power armor
Also post any pics you think it should look like and if I like them to or they get good votes I will add them!. |

Wasn't a bad read. Not a wall of text. Anyone with an attention span longer than a 4 year old should be able to follow easy enough.
I like the idea. I thought of something similar, though it was more for currently existing heavy suits. I really wouldn't want a Titan suit to have too many balancing negatives, since the point IS to be OP. Just like you need a whole team to take out a Titan in EVE, you should need a whole team to take out a TITAN suit. Simply put, the other team better get their **** together and co-op, otherwise that Titan suit will dominate everything.
The description you give sounds more like a mini-mech as opposed to a dropsuit. I'd classify it as a war vehicle. Not a MAV, but definitely a mech-suit of some sort... like Iron Man. lol
For current dropsuits I'd propose some native bonuses: 1. Heavies = Armor Hardening Mode (Like vehicle hardening. With a -25% movement/sprint penalty. Heavy becomes immune to getting run over or crushed by vehicles. Active skill.) 2. Scouts = Cloaking Mode (Stop moving for 3 secs, and cloak engages. With a 20% bonus to profile dampening. Passive skill.) 3. Logistics = Enhanced Strengthening (Enables them to grab and carry vehicles. Like overturning turtle'd dropships, or jammed LAVS. Can't move when holding a vehicle, but can turn in place. CAN be used offensively. CAN stop LAVs dead in their tracks, pull down enemy dropships that get too close and try to crush, but can only slow and NOT stop tank movement.) 4. Assaults = (Haven't thought of anything for them. I'm biased against them actually. When I'm sniping an assault with triple dmg mods and a Genesis rifle, and he's darting around super fast, AND is as hard to take down as a heavy -3 shots-.... something is broken...)
I like your Titan dropsuit idea, but again, armor hardening for current heavies would be a plus. The heavies are supposed to be a team's linebackers. It's stupid to see little guys strafe around them with ARs and win.
I say, let the Titan idea have all those benefits, and just reduce or eliminate the penalties. Make the suit cost 20mil ISK, and I promise it won't be spammed. lol |

Titan sounds a lot like the mtac coming SOON (tm)
Although if the mtacs are big enough I ciuld get behind the idea of the titan suit. But making it nearly immune to infantry makes me iffy.
Its an infantry suit so infantry should be able to kill it. Now making it a new tier of suit say max out heavy then open up the titan op skill that would work. Kind of like going from a frig to a cruiser in eve gotta train up the little guy first before you can have the big guy.
As a starting point. I like your post. It is good and you should feel good. |

They should stand out, but not be hindered in a way that decreases it's ability to be peojected by vehicles. |

Your looking for the MTAC, because if you read the books, you will find out that they can fit inside dropships, along with other personal. Anyways, propel would just camp with dual FG's on top of a building, making AV even more OP. |

Some MTACs are little more than a robotic exoskeleton, they might double the height of the user.
Some are... bigger than that.

Oh god yes!
Please, make Racial Suit Proficiency skills (like weapons) and have the Titan be Level III. That way it can field 2000+ HP without the forums bitching about how everyone is an OP Titan Heavy now.

Eh... I don't like the whole no sprint thing... It should just move slower and use more stamina...
I think it should be bulkier than the current heavy, but not more than 15% bigger.
Honestly I think your suggestion is more MTAC like, the Titan Heavy is meant to be a more armor tanked heavy variation as a response to the Type II heavy proliferation. |

I'd rather just have MTAC, preferably with two heavy slots that get used at the same time. Like two HMG's or a forge and an HMG. Not overpowered but still the best vehicle class. Jet packs would be nice for a quick jump like ability. As long as they make the MTAC I'll like it. |
