Starting from scratch, how would you build your clone? I am looking for examples Of every class. From sniper 2 medic. Where would you allocate your skill points first Etc. Have you tested any of these and how have they worked out? |

I would delete every starter fit but the Assault - Frontline one. Play until I could get a steady average of 2.5 k:d ratio. Then spend my points into what I thought was fun. You will learn so much about core mechanics of this game, strategies, and how to deal with just about every situation. Plus, your aim will be good enough that you can handle just about any weapon you wish at that point. Overcoming handicapped equipment against better geared troops are where you build your skills. |

If something is interesting but you don't want to change your current plan an alt may answer your questions. Start one, play it for a few weeks and Terminate it if things don't go well. Try a different class, rinse and repeat.
My perfect build doesn't matter and my belief is that there is no such thing in DUST. The EVE players say there is no wasted SP as everything is useful eventually. They probably have a point and since CCP is the root of all things DUST they have more experience with the minds behind this universe.
Basis for all manner of Infantry is Weaponry lvl 5. If Vehicles are important Circuitry lvl 5 and Combat Engineering lvl 5 are valuable.
After that just keep adding functionality as needed. Stay focused on one Skill at a time until lvl 3 before switching to something else.
Personally this character is an Assault/Heavy and my primary is Sniper/Logi Bro. Both of them can use: HMG, Forge, Swarm, AV and Flux grenades AR, Shotgun, Laser Rifle, Sniper Rifle SMG, several types of Scrambler Pistols. Nanite Injectors, Hives, Repair Tools, Uplinks; all upgraded. Remote Explosives and Proximity Mines.
They are radically different chars but those Skills are useful while trying to stay alive down here in the DUST. |

Very good responses. I have been testing different builds with 3 different characters. Most of my testing has been with a heavy build. As of now my new testing is with a type 2 heavy. I am looking at adding a tank build with it. Not sure if the heavy would slow down the tank much but I think running this build will allow my team and I to capture objectives a little bit easier. Any suggestions? |
