If you are playing solo and you join a game it is good to get into a squad with random people. You can still work together even though you don't know them and you can even meet people in game that you would play with later.
With removing default squads it is going to alienate anybody who is not already in a corp (IE New Players) and make PUB play seem even MORE lonely.....
Why are you doing this!?
There is no auto voice chat when not in a squad and barely anybody changes the voice over to team chat.....
Please change this back asap.

Thanks What blows my mind is the literal wall of possible fixes they could have done and they chose to do one that isn't even a problem. Dafuq is wrong with these people |

Actually makes sense. See, when joining a game it automatically puts you in Squad Chat. Removing the Default Squad means they might be thinking about moving that to team chat instead. Meaning, when I'm in Team Chat waiting for someone to speak with, there is 15 chances that someone might actually have turned their mics on and are ready to talk, YAY!
Also, how does it alienate anyone? Nobody talks in default squads, ever. |

I have met and added many players who talk in default squads...
Also, even if they did make team chat the default you still cant work together efficiently with people not in your corp unless you go through these steps...
1. Join Game
2. Talk to somebody on team chat
3. Work together without FRAGO or green dots to assist in location/direction
4. Add player from leaderboards to contacts after game
5. Create a channel to talk to them in
6. Mail them with the channel name
7. Finally invite them to squad.....
Because of this you can't tell who is a decent squad player until you have done all of these |

I am ok with this change. If it turns out to be a move in the wrong direction, they can switch it back.
I personally think it will help the game; people can easily for squads still and you can still join games in squads...
Just waiting for them to change the default voice chat settings...!!!

Its done, I was automatically in team chat at the start of a game. I agree this works fine after testing it a bit.
Unfortunately it doesn't stop blueberries from wandering around aimlessly even if you are trying to give strategic help over the mic. |

the trouble with removing default squad allocation is, you dont get the points for setting objectives. Another issue, is you will not get the points for an orbital strike.
I tried adding myself in to a squad. after the game, it would not let me start another pub match, as it said I was not squad leader. I had to wait for the leader to kick me out before starting another game. This means I now go solo on public matches by default. The only benefit seems to be more headsets are shown, but most people are not talking anyway. Seems like a fail to me, as points and orbital strike are lost. |

Thanks
It has its pros and cons not many pros though i agree yes pre made squads were better. I hope we can get see 4 squads max for every team this allows most gain from squad orders, most orbitals, and team work to be seen in game. A lot of the time though you'll see a lot of solo squadders which equals less orbitals. I am not -1 or +1 though on this thread because it's actually not that big of deal to me personally. |
