I've been informed that Imps and probably soon to be others have started using a tactic developed by my Games and Theroy department. As we didn't lay claim to other techniques we've developed in the closed beta that were popularized I want to make sure that proper credit goes to G I A N T. Specifically Waruiko DUST with testing help from Arunis Gen. Our mass Nano field was dubbed the Eye of Sauron and casually referred to as EOS. Now you all know what to call that glowing field of invincibility that you may have seen in match during testing. |

Ugh due respect but you naming something EOS doesnt make it unique.
If this was something you'd try to file a patent on in RL it be rejected on the grounds of common sense design, meaning that no reasonable person could have duplicated said design without assistance or foresight.
In other words just because you dubbed it something doesnt make the tactic yours.
On the other hand EOS does sound cool so i am in favor of crediting GIANT with that name and propose we make it part of the common dust vernacular along with

It's an obvious tactic and "The Eye of Sauron" poorly represents it |

That's pretty cool, even though no one really cares. It was a good read. |

Very much so - I taught it to some of my friends so they could do it properly. That map with the middle table top - setting that eye inside the crate = KILLER.
Now the secrets out. Everyone go camp a spot with nanos and wait for me to arrive |

How many Logibros would it take to make a Heavy Unkillable? We do it with one. A mix of 6 hives is highly effective but we've gone as high as 27 off 1 logi. |

I have seen the glowing lights. And only really ever run across G I A N T squads using it. It is a very interesting approach so they can call it whatever they want. To me looks more like something from Poltergeist or some other 80s sci fi horror type movie than anything.
To defeat the eye you need at least a few players with their own nanohives spamming those grenades (fused?) that explode on impact into the bright lights. Thukkers would do the trick. |

The original concept of the Eye of Saruman came to be when Waruiko Dust (Logi), Tricanis Mk2 (Laser) and I (Logi) went on top of a building or something, placed them down, and began the initial tests of the concept.
Just so you know, I work VERY hard at setting all 34 of those nanohives up to be used my my team. I would kindly appreciate it if you did not attempt to commit mass murder of my hives!
Anywho. Yeah I was just doing it to see if it was a viable option for pub matches. Grenades do pose a threat to them (which is spit out obscene phrases at the grenade throwers before proceeding to set them back up) but when placed in proximity to a strategic location (Supply Depot) you can have a continuous flow of Nanohives. |
