The current SP and ISK rewards system in this game are kind of disappointing. It's a system that is extremely safe so I understand why it was implemented, however there are much better alternatives that could be used.
The most glaring issue with the current system is the passive SP and ISK that is earned from spending time in a match. I understand that this is a tool being used to try and level the rewards for all players. It means players who are less skilled who earn low WP scores still receive a good amount of SP and ISK.
Passive SP earned out of matches is fine and a good part of character progression, but rewards for doing nothing in matches (passive SP and ISK from just being in a match) is fundamentally flawed and a very unsatisfying reward structure as a player. It leads to a system that is extremely easy and rewarding to abuse, and we are seeing a lot of abuse as players join matches and are not playing just to receive the free isk and SP. If you are working on something or busy you can just queue into a game every 30 minutes and earn 10,000+ SP, and ~300,000 ISK an hour while not actually playing the game.
I believe I have an alternative reward structure that would not only be more resilient to player abuse, but it would also keep reward equality, and provide a more satisfying rewards structure to the players.
I am suggesting a progressive rewards structure based solely on WP earned in match. It would work as follows.
The first 500 warpoints would be on a 10x multiplier. The next 500 warpoints would have a 5x multiplier. The next 500 warpoints would be on a 3x multiplier. Finally any points earned over 1500 would only be on a 2x multiplier.
Here is a general break down at certain levels of match WP to show how players are still well rewarded at lower WP levels.
0 WP = 0 SP 250 WP = 2,500 SP 500 WP = 5,000 SP 750 WP = 6,250 SP 1,000 WP = 7,500 SP 1,250 WP = 8,250 SP 1,500 WP = 9,000 SP 1,750 WP = 9,500 SP 2,000 WP = 10,000 SP 3,000 WP = 12,000 SP 4,000 WP = 14,000 SP
(SP rewards could be halved for ambush)
ISK could also be rewarded in a similar fashion. I would also really like to see a multiplier on ISK earned based on if you won or lost the match. SP should always be the same since win or lose you gained experience, but it would be nice to see a .5x multiplier on ISK earned for a loss, and a 1.5x multiplier for ISK earned for a victory. This makes sense with the lore of being a merc, and it would also finally give players an incentive to try and win matches. Leaving an unfinished match should also void your rewards in your next match to stop players from leaving battles they think they are going to lose.
It would also be nice if a modified version of this progressive system was added after the cap was hit, but that would require a lot more balancing and have a much lower impact on the game so I won't go over the details on that as fixing the active uncapped SP system is 100x more important in my opinion.
Please let me know what you think of the idea, and if you have any ideas for a better SP system. |

If they're doing nothing they're earning the minimum paltry sums already. They'll earn little to nothing of note, they will advance at a snail's crawl, and most of them will get bored and quit rather quickly.
You proposed reward scheme would induce QQ at tremendous rates as those who are high WP earners will hit the SP cap very quickly which will lead to numerous more threads wanting the SP cap removed.
Though I have no better idea that what is currently in place, I don't think your idea would improve the mechanic. |

Honestly, I think that is simply too agressive.
I think I would go with something more like this:
1 WP per Second (outside of the redzone) plus 0 WP = 0 SP 100 WP = 500 SP 250 WP = 1,000 SP 500 WP = 1,500 SP 750 WP = 2,000 SP 1,000 WP = 3,000 SP plus Every 1 WP over 1,000 = 1 SP
That keeps the curve balanced so that a character who gets at least two kills or hacks an objective or two installations gets a solid basic SP reward and the higher WP earners get more reward, but not massively so. |

Doing nothing earns you about 50% of actually earning 2,000 Warpoint during a match. (both in isk and SP)
If I afk a 25 minute match I get 7,500 SP and 150,000 ISK
If I earn 2000 WP in a 25 min match I get 11,000 SP and 250,000ISK
Clearly you are rewarded a ton for not playing. |

Anyone who's actually AFKed a whole match to check the numbers is part of the problem. Also, I think your calculations are a bit flawed. I've gotten over 200k ISK and less than 2000 SP in some matches and less than 160k ISK and over 2000SP in others. I don't know how they figure that stuff out, but I know that ISK and SP earnings are not hardlinked to each other. |

Both isk and sp are positively correlated with time which is the problem. Also there were no calculations so they are not off. They are the actual numbers I received. It shows a clear problem that is what I am saying. I don't know the exact formula for either sp or isk |

Alright. I get where you're coming from. I just don't see it as becoming as big of a problem as you seem to be making of it. I just want to know where my 10k free SP per hour is. Without the booster, I barely make 10K SP per hour unless it's quick ambush matches and I actively play the whole match. So as an active player, how is it possible to earn the same or less? |

you should hardly be rewarded at all for not playing though guys, I like OPs suggestion though numbers can and should be tweaked, I think more WP should be given for certain tasks as well, killing a milita starter suit noob should less WP than a guy in full proto gear and officer weapons for example. |
