Hi All-

Just a heads up we will be doing some tweaks to the matchmaking for Instant Battles today but only for the US and Asia. This is part of an ongoing data collection exercise that we are doing during the beta in order to determine how we can best place players into fair and competitive matches appropriate for their skill level.

Part of today's experiment will introduce longer wait times for "Searching For Battle" when joining the Instant Battles so you may need to be a little more patient than usual.

If you have any feedback or experience any problems, let me know.

I would have expected matchmaking to look at game stats like K/D, WPS number of kills etc. These are more important to matchmaking than SP.

Maybe part of that is to match the worst players according to data collected so far, with the best players according to data gathered so far, in order to gather more data and establish more statistical parameters for their algorithm.

Yeah you go up against people of "equal skill" but teams are still stacked in terms of squads and people playing solo. yep i've been seeing the exact same thing, CCP you really have to balance the squads on each team, also while your at it please look into filling squads in games already going, far to often i see my team full of 1-2 man squads pretty much killing any chance of getting enough WP for orbitals

But you said in your OP there's no matchmaking system, and now you're saying yes there is one... I'm not saying it's important to make it fair or competitive now, but if they testing stuff out, one would think they would test it out the proper way no? Test it out by making squads go against each other, and not stack squads against solo players. They're testing a broken matchmaking system and gathering data from it...smh.

Imps, Seraphim, Academy Inferno, Teamplayers, and half a dozen other corps, all in full squads have been dominating today. Also I thought the matchmaking was for US and Asia only, so where does that leave a brit like me, who's in a squad with americans? And what exactly is the matchmaking using to sync us up? Some more info would be nice here.
