I thought id post something here for the new or aspiring heavy its simply a basic list of tacticks for the "green" heavy's . Firstly im going to dish a bit of advice about weapons and heavy suits as ive seen and melted quite allot (200+) heavys in the past two weeks that had made bad weapons and dropsuit modification choices
1stly your a heavy use the heavy weapons !!! Sounds simple but as ive said iv melted many other heavys that came across me with an assault rifle or a shot gun ect if you mert me face to face with anything other than a HMG your nothing but a puddle in seconds.
2ndly when firing your heavy weapon drop to your knees this will frasticly improve your aim and killing capacity when you master the technique .
When applying your mods in the mark 1 suit allways have at least 1 complex damage mod and an armour repair.if you have the type two suit I tend to ignore this rule as I favour 2 complex shield mods and a complex armour repair as I use this suit for defencive possitions because of the ammount of shields you have when your passives are quite high on this suit makes it verry well suited for the fire and run or duck technique espesilaly when equiping the mh2 or burst fire hmg
When using the forge gun figure your fighting style are you a front line shock troop or are you a gurilla heavy If your going to take the forge on the front line then id say get the assault forge gun as it will charge and fire quickly making it more suited for the front line . If you prefer the gurilla heavy style then equip the breech forge gun and 2 complex damage mods . If trying to be the gurilla heavy allways try to move between cover and round the outskirts of the map find a good vantage point and start popping turrets supply depos and crus with the breech forge gun, 2complex damage mods and a friend with a nano hive you can destroy every turret in 2 shots And modt instalations in aprox 8-10 shots even less if your friend is carrying a swarm launcher .
This is just some advice for the new/newish heavies if any one wants to contribute pleas do . Hope some of this is usefull. Happy hunting

I am new made a lot of poor choices in buying things I shouldnt, like nano hive injectors for the Heavy I use. I noticed that the prerequesit doesnt state what dropsuits it can be equiped on. Since I havent switched to any other job, I soon realized that other dropsuits have other slots available. I noticed not a lot of Logistics jobs since I havent played the game all that often I noticed that they do carry this console of sorts seems like the repair tool. Do they have a weapon or just there for support? |

Iv decided to post some more advice for the new heavy players and also to bump this up a bit as iv still been melting inappropriately fitted heavies.
Firstly read my origenal post .
Secondly . This is now going to be concerned with fitting your heavy suit for maximum impact under all circumstances . This is a list of fittings you should aspire to.
Type 1 heavy suit . HMG fit Low slot -1 complex armour plate (only if you have a logi on your squad) if not 1 complex armour repair
High slot -2 complex shield extenders. This will help with assaulting and defending.
Heavy weapon - HMG (preferably mh2 )
Side arm -smg (I like the toxin)
Grenade slot-flux (deals with those type2 assault suits nicely)
Type 1 suit -forge gunner .assault ( walking rail tank)
Low slot -complex armour plate(only with logi present) if not complex armour repair.
High slots - 2complex shield extenders,(if not fit the best you can .)
Heavy weapon- assault forge gun .
Side arm - smg yet again the best you can fit . ( I still love the toxin)
Grenade slot - AV grenades.
Type 1 forge gurrila
Low slot - complex armour plate (same as before only with logi) no logi complex armour repair.
High slots - 2 complex damage mods.
Heavy weapon - breech forge gun .
Side arm - smg
Grenade - AV grenades.
Type 2 heavy HMG defensive.
Low slot -complex shield regulator or complex armour plate both only with logi .no logi revert to same as type 1.
High slots- either 2 complex shield boosters or 2 complex extenders . Both will do you well but never combine recharge and booster .
Heavy wepon - HMG either burst or mh2
Side arm - SMG
Grenade- locus grenade never carry flux on type 2 suits or youll find out why the hard way (I did in my newberry dsys)
Type 2forge assault
High slots same as suit above
Low slot same as above
Weapon- assault forge gun .
Side arm - you should know this by mow . Smg is a heavies friend.
Grenade- AV grenades
Type 2 forge guerilla
High slots - 2complex damage mods
Low slot - same as previous suit
Wepon - breech forge gun
Side arm - need I say it .... yes SMG
Grenade- AV grenades.
These loadouts will help you mske an impact on any battlefield . Ill put up more on advanced fittings in time or when I stop melting innapropriste

Why wouldn't you just use 2 complex dmg mods heavy, type 2 suit, hmg. To prevent from almost dead enemies from running away |

Some good advice here from the OP
The best advice is to always have a wall or structure at your back, move with a purpose.
I'm not a big fan of squatting it limits your mobility too much( The only time I use it is for extreme distance shooting.)
Pro tip never straife side to side against another heavy unless absolutely necessary and only move through the opposing heavy stream of bullets once. The true trick is to go in one general direction and stay ahead of his turn circling him.
Never throw grenades at a heavy already shooting at you, you will have lost already. Its okay to throw just before the engagement but not during.
Hope these help keep up the heavy fight! |

If grenade are thrown at you run forward not back.
Heavies rarely win if you run so aways advance or staife to cover
Hope these help keep up the heavy fight!

To prevent from almost dead enemies from running away I do because I can run effectively as a heavy this advice is out to help the new heavies survive a bit longer and make an impact pluds if your using the mh2 on the type 2 suit yes damage mods help but you dont need them unless your going up against another heavy imo. |

While I would think most have figured this out already I see many heavys running through the wide open with HMG in hand, if you need to get across an exposed area or GTFO since you're being overwhelmed switch to your sidearm! You run much faster with a pistol or SMG in hand as opposed to the forge gun or HMG.
Also keep in mind that even though you may feel like Rambo, you're not. Play defensively, stay with your squad.
As for squatting, it's situational IMO, if it's close quarters and you're dancing around one another no this definitely not the time to pop a squat. However when holding a lane from a potential flank by the enemy, yes absolutely. Or when you know that kill hungry assault will inevitably re-peek a corner. It really does help it reach bone shredding bullet hose mode much quicker.
Squatting with a forge gun seems hit or miss, I've gotten very good with squatting just as it fires (DAU assault) and sometimes it seems to fire more accurately and just as many times I'll have the reticule right on them, with the red marker on the reticule and yet somehow it misses, and not talking about trying to bodyshot a moving scout at 100m but non moving heavies and assaults within 30m. Point I'm getting at is that squatting with a forge really may not be advantageous.
Nice thread BTW

I probabky should have added in the oosts above when I mention a breech or forge gun unkess I specificly mention a model allways equip the best you can . I do have a preference for the DUA models . As they pack a worthy punch for isk value . As far as im concerned 38000 is a bargin for a hand held weapon that can let you solo a gunlog or madruger class tank and one or two shot any dropship this being said when they are equiped to my advanced build the whole suit and set up costs over 100000 isk . The fittings for which I shall be posting later this week . Ill edit the cost figure when back in game |

Hola folks back again , this time im going to be going over some advanced fits for your heavy mainly concerinig the A-series, some will be verry similar to the type 1 and type 2 fits. also ill be adding some advice on how best to use each fit.
Heavy A- series HMG Defensive
Low slotts 2 complex armour plates if logi present , if no logi bro then whap on the good ol complex armour repair
High slotts - for this level heavy i like to roll with 2 complex dammage mods ( if your not so confident in your survivability then go with 2 complex shield boosters)
Heavy wepon - MH2 HMG
Side arm- Assault smg
Grenade - Flux grenades ( bubbles)
This set up is best suited for playing defence with plenty of cover because if you are running with 2 armour plates then you wont be going any whare fast. Try to find a good spot near an objective with at least two of your flanks covered and dig in deep , dont try to be a hero and charge out looking for the fight because enevidably it will come to you.
Heavy A-Series Forge gun Front line shock troop
Low slots- " complex armour repair mods ( too much armour will slow you down on the front line)
High Slots- yet again i like to roll with 2 complex dammage mods but if you are'nt too confident in your survival skills then go for the shield extenders.
Heavy wepon DAU 2/A assault forge gun
Side arm - Assault smg
Grenade slots
- AVnades
When running this fit try to stay just behind the front line and allways aim for the feet when targeting infantry , if tackling a tank you best bet is to get above it let off some AVnade spam then let rip with the forge, If you cant get above the tank get to cover and bob in and out in time with your shotts alternatively if the tank is preocupied with another target get as close as possible and start blasting that little sweet spot at the back. the DAU packs a mighty punch and will panick any tank driver , it will also serve as a great area denial wepon.
Heavy A-Series Forge gun Gurilla forge gunner
Low slots - " complex armour repairs yet again you dont want too bogged down with armour
High slots- 2 complex dammage mods youll understand why when you try it out.
Heavy wepon - DCMA-5 BReech Forge gun
Side arm - Assault smg
Grenade - AVnades
The most effective way of using this fit is to have a friend with a nano hive as youll need it , You should aim to move round the outskirts of the map with this fit and pop every turret and supplydepo and cru , when you have accomplished that find a place where the enimy will have to move their vehicles through and get yourself a vantage point over it , with this load out you can pop most tanks in 1 shot if you hit the sweetspot , 2-3 shots everywhere else pending on how compotentlyu they have beefed up thei defenses.
