I recommend re-designing the spawn system in both ambush and skirmish.
In ambush it is about as CoD as it can get, which is BAD b/c CoD will win that fight. The game mode must separate it's self from this competition.
More than that - I get a constant feeling of paranoia when I play, a constant feeling of being alone. This is something that I should not feel when I'm in a team game. I should see my allies with me, and my enemies against me. Spawning to see 4 reds surrounding me with all my blue on the other side of the map really cuts away at the enjoyment of the game.
Further - it prevents the game from being objective oriented. With each game mode the objective isn't to control any points, it's to get the best kdr. KDR dominates too much. A lot of this comes out when ppl say "don't cap the letter, let's just spawn kill them."
Re-do spawning so that the objectives come to the front of the game, and the killing is about taking objectives, not about score padding. A lot of this can come from re-doing the wp rewards and payout to be less influenced by kills and more influenced by objectives.
edit - also I feel that having WP build the orbital strike makes the game too much of a CoD KDR to win match. Let's separate the orbital strike from the KDR by having an installation on the field which must be controlled to call it in, and simply give it a cool down timer. This could be a communications installation, and it would all make sense and not be a kill streak reward anymore <_< |

I completely agree. I made a thread with what I think are good solutions to the issue with spawns here.
Your orbital strike installation idea reminds me of BF1943. Which I can see being a good thing and a bad thing. I'd prefer a system similar to MAG where it's just a support ability that has a cooldown. |
