Old thread was locked for some reason, was pretty old though.
I'd like to bring back a discussion/suggesting on Leaning. Leaning could be a useful function and adds more movement to the player, it also allows us to "interact" with the environment and use terrain and cover more effectively.
You can lean Left or Right and your screen will tilt as you lean, this will let you face a wall and then lean so that you can see and fire around the edge.
Ofcourse restrictions need to apply, here are my suggestions
All Suits can Lean. All Sidearms and Majority of Light Weapons can be Fired Light Weapons that cannot be fired: -Mass Driver -Swarm Launcher All Heavy Weapons cannot fire. All Grenades can chucked.
My reasons for the Light Weapons and Heavy Weapons that cannot fire is all about balance, especially for vehicle users. There are times a vehicle user cannot hit a Headglitching ForgeGunner, or a Swarm Launcher sitting behind a hill, being able to fire just by leaning around a corner would be ridiculous. Players can still look around a corner to see whats there but firing shouldn't happen. Mass Drivers would also be unbalanced as it would be ridiculously hard to even shoot the guy and HMGs would also be a major problem
Controls for PS3
Switch Vehicle selection to Down on DPAD, remove map from DPAD (As you can access the map using Start). Remove PTT button, perhaps put it in Up on DPAD instead of the player list (Why is it there really?). Add Lean Left to Left DPAD, Add Lean Right to Right DPAD

+1 I'm always in favor of more environmental interaction like this. I'm expecting a bunch of people to hate this, and panic over possible abuse. Non-standard mechanics tend to get that response, I hope it doesn't happen here. |

They don't have to remove controls to add leaning . When you hold the zoom in button the controls on the dpad would just switch or when zooming in holding down sprint and moving the analog left or right could work too. |

It's an ok thought, but you shouldn't need to scope in just to lean, you should be able to do both allowing much more free movement. Standing, crouched, ads or not. The sprint option would be difficult to manage aswell imo from a player perspective. |

Seems more appropriate for a different game like arma Dust is more fast paced players don't really lean there head around walls they just jump out and start blasting. All i can really say for a con though is it would make the game more slow paced over strategical. |
