Not literally a ripoff of FF7's Golden saucer, but it might be interesting to eventually get some sort of interstellar game rooms with mini-games. I used FF7's Golden saucer since most people will recognize it as a place to have fun playing a lot of different mini-games.
Poker?
Slot Machines?
A New Eden collectible card game that can be played between DUST & EVE? 2 player online DUST chess? Or Shogi? Or how about some original, CCP made games?
The reason I suggest this is because it would:
a) Give DUST & EVE players more ways to interact. b) Give players something to do when they feel like taking a break from shooting peoples in the face. c) Give players a place to gamble/spend their ISK on non-combat related fun if they wish to. d) Expand the experience by allowing you to have more things to do DUST side in New Eden.
Also, please keep in mind that I'm speculating about something for a couple years down the road, I'm not pushing for CCP to put off important game updates for this. |

I personally liked the snowboarding and submarine minigames, but of course bred chocobo's as well. Remember the "Dashing man riding a Black Chocobo", Joe? Nemesis until you got a decent ride. But if you knew the trick to constantly restore your chocobos stamina by holding down the shoulder buttons, it made things MUCH easier. |

Did you go to the Dust PSN Home Room? (Had to go there often in early days to get my closed beta weekend passes)
There was a brilliant little table game that was playable against other players (though sometimes the game took a little to long sometimes)
Having something like this would be perfect in Corp Lobbies or Alliance lobbies (We need more alliance support!!!) |

Cards from salvage. Use cards you get from salvage to play against others. Get money from cards. Become the card master. Rule your destiny.
This is genius +1. |

Lulz, I am a card game geek, that's why I put it in there. I also liked the card games in FF9 & FF8, which is more the speed of what I was thinking though. But a DUST PVP card game similar to Magic or such would be very interesting. It would also add another PVP element not based around either game, and let DUST players compete against EVE players. Maybe let DUST players salvage cards from PVE and let EVE players buy booster packs, then let the winner of a match choose like 2 cards from the winners deck to keep or trade. Anyway, I may be going a bit too deep into it, but it would be interesting to see something similar to this in action. |

Oh man, I was a hardcore Magic: The Gathering fan when that game first came out--Richard Garfield is genius!
Played in countless tournaments over the years. I remember that we used to draw literally 2 to 3 hundred people to the regional tournanments back in Atlanta, GA. This was around '95 or '96.
I stopped playing because I couldn't keep up with the endless releases and the onslaught of new expansions/cards.
I do still miss it, though.
BTW, the FPS called RAGE by ID software had a cool little "card game" in its gameplay. Dunno if you've ever seen it or played it, but it was actually the best part of the whole game lol.
Getting "cards" as slavage in DUST would be a fun mechanic...But we'd need a game first and i don't suspect that the devs would be willing to divert resources to such an option.
But, who knows. Maybe they could hire Richard Garfield to whip something up for them!
Did I mention that he's a genius... |

But for something like this I would hope for something a little more strategy based like Magic or YuGiOh, where you have a whole deck and you have a deck limit and you need to build as many strategy's as possible with as few cards as possible.
That, or perhaps a more traditional style card game. I was kinda partial to the card game in Fallout: New Vegas. The rest of the game was kinda so-so, but that card game was a LOT of fun. |

Need an auction house so players can sell of equipment that they don't want, like salvaged items they can't use, or even being able to sell boosters to gain isk.
Oh, and add in social areas. It would be very nice. Make us able to sit on couches. Or maybe even invite people into our merc quarters and shizz like that. Need to be able to trade items, give people money. Stuffs like that. |

CCP doesn't really need to implement this stuff, because players do. I give you Somer Blink and Eve Online Hold 'em. You should be able to join EOH as soon as ISK transfers from DUST to EVE are possible, and I'm sure Somer blink will be adding infantry gear as soon as it's feasible.
I'm not aware of any EVE casino that supports other games such as blackjack and roulette. Sounds like a business opportunity for you gents. |

But yeah, Give me Slay ingame, allow me to battle other mercs and I'll be happy :D Also the card game would be quite awesome. Get cards for fighting in both EVE and DUST.

This is actually a lot of what was trying to be done in Incarna and I think it will make an appearance again one day.
However, if we're going to take the Golden Saucer as an example (and I actually think it's a pretty good archetype), we should consider a few strengths and weaknesses.
1. The Golden Saucer had 2 Primary Events that were important to the Character throughout the entire game. The other games were fun, but certainly not the reason I went back the majority of the time. A Dust Social Carnival of sorts would need similar events. Think of it like a mall...everyone is drawn there typically for a few primary stores with a strong attraction to them and in the process, people will tend to look around and try other stores or get food as it were while they are there in the first place. I would suggest that Dust/Eve Places do somehthing similar in the forum of Arena Tournaments, Illegal Shipments, PvE Content, etc.
2. There were ways to Master the Gold Saucer and maximize your earnings at the games. CCP would need to carefully dodge around these systems to avoid farming. However, I wouldn't be opposed to a "Monthly/ Annual Champion" styled game so long as it was universal in New Eden.
3. I think ultimately the key to doing this kind of thing would also be in allowing players to make the majority of the Content in here. Games Included.
4. Gambling.....gambling is extremely tricky as this is a very connected, International game and many nation forbid any form of it. Unless you can think of some ways of cleverly avoiding it, I think this will be a very repressed feature |

........and you can use these free credits for getting items at a prize counter...........
