Why i hate pretentious pseudo-intellectuals that act as if they are somehow above the human race. The logic transfer doesn't apply because you my friend have created a false equivalency the equivalecy here being that racism is equivalent to exploitation of a video game. That the logic to justify one is transferable and justifiable to the next. Obviously i know you're not equating the two and just trying to make an example but its false equivalencies like this that drive me and any rationale person up a wall.

See I don't think he's saying gaming exploiters and and racists are equal in their ignominy, but just that the logic that says, "the problem of one person taking advantage or exploiting another is the result of that person being exploitable" is the same logic in both instances. Were he to assign an emotional importance to the gravity of racist being equal to the problem of game exploiters, that would be false equivalence.
The thing is, that Eve (and Dust by extension) is built for these 'flawed' people. In the sandbox there is a lot that is 'allowed' but unappreciated. It is Winscar's inital moral judgement not his logical conclusion that is pretentious.
If exploiters feel entitled to their exploitation and that it should be seen as just and respectable, that is not unlike a racist wanting to say that he feels that his racism should be allowed in a fair and free society.
Up to a very limited point racism is, sadly, allowed, but everything to the left and right of that point that person is still an ugly and detestable person (to the average person).
Likewise, you are not special for figuring out an exploit. There is a limited amount of allowable exploitation in New Eden, but it is clear that you are leeching (in this case). In other cases, like piracy, some forms of exploitation is actually respected by a lot of people.
I guess AFK leechers have the right to make their case that their profession is a noble one, and invite them to such, but I don't think they are the same as racists. |

The only thing that makes this game playable is upgrading a suit. Farming sp is the only way to make grinding bearable for a poorly programmed, clunky, bad map design, low content, bug ridden game. Well maybe CBs are worth it so you can show off said SP grind
playing the same levels over and over and dealing with the clunk ones of near everything is a chore. Just try and knock me out of the mcc lol |
