I was playing in a match and switched guns with the hold R2 hud thing and it glitched such that now the R2 button will not work in dust 514. The button works just fine everywhere else (in other games) and can see something glitched in the game because when renaming fits, which uses the ps3 keyboard drivers, the R2 button works just fine, but then go to the battlefinder and switch between the match tabs, the button no longer works.
I have restarted the game, didn't work. I have restarted the ps3 both cold and warm, didn't work. I have tried forcing some sort of change on the server with adding new fittings and trying them in matches, didn't work.
So I figure that my game became corrupted somehow, so I deleted dust 514 and am now reinstalling it. |

Good solution, I suspect. Would you mind updating with the result of the re-install.
An option might be to let the controller run down its battery, although I am hard pressed to see how the game could cause a glitch in the actual controller. It might be worth trying if the re-install doesn't do the job. |

I finally got my R2 button to work again... After I deleted dust, the playstation store glitched out such that the controller didnt work at all, but outside of it, the controller worked just fine. So I did the ps3 format and factory settings, still the playstation store was glitched, which made me think that the problem was my controller. After using the keyboard to download dust 514 and reinstall it, the original R2 problem persisted. Could still use R2 just fine when naming a fit, but outside of that, it didnt work at all.
I read your comment, so I pushed the reset button on the controller. Still had the same problem. Then to quickly mimic a dead controller battery, I removed the controller cover and physically disconnected the battery.
Physically disconnecting the battery fixed the problem, and I guess the entire problem from the start was with my controller and not the game. It just happened to occur when I was playing the game. Such an odd thing that it would work with basic functions but not inside the game.
Anyways, thx for the idea. |
