So I bought the demolition skill... now where do I buy proximity/remote explosives? I can't find them in the market, and I don't want to invest any skill points into demo until I know where I can get them. |

Ah, thanks.
Oh, proxy explosives only detect vehicles. Well that's stupid. No wonder they're not under weapons. |

yah, and they make a loud beeping noise to the operator of a nearby enemy vehicle. If the enemy is a fast moving LAV you'll probably get him, but a decent tank driver will just shoot your prox mines. You can probably get some baddies with them, but you'll get many more kills with REs. REs aren't sticky like C4 or anything, but you can still drop them in front of you and try to blow up a LAV that's trying to run you over. |

Wait...you are saying that enemy proximity mines will give an auditory queue when I'm nearby? Or at least my vehicle can detect them? This is news to me!! |

Yep :P. It's a really loud beeping noise.
It makes sense too- there has to be some way to counter a cheap few-k isk tool on a 1+mil tank. People have tried them on my tank, but once you hear the beeping just stop, look at the ground in front of you, and shoot. You'll see the prox mines (they look like small circular mines) and you can blow them up. You'll hear them before you can see them, and you might have to search around a little to find them.
The only problem is if you're in a LAV. I'm not the most experienced LAV driver, but I was going full speed in one recently and I heard the beeping noise from nearby prox mines. At that point it was too late...
The prox mines do help you slow down a tank. Sometimes I'm lazy and have the HP to run over them, but most of the time I stop and shoot so I don't take damage. |

PE's can make for a good route deterent to a tank that makes him stall long enough to lock and destroy if set up right. Plus I don't think they always disappear if you die so some staying power remains.
Haven't used 'em for a while so not sure on new patch changes/setup. |

Yep, in chromosome, my Methana lacked a gunner so I was just driving it around taking popshots from a forge like it was a backrub. But then (at full speed with Torque boosters mind you) I watched myself run over like 6-9 remote explosive mines, heard two beeps just as I get to the third row of them and kablam.

That might explain the strange beeping I heard before my LAV spontaneously combusted. The killfeed said I died randomly. |
