I honestly don't know what can be done here, but the controls for the LAV's are horrible. it's like they are constantly driving around on ICE.... it would be could if different terrain effected vehicle movement. like roads made it nice, sand made it sluggish, and ice made it slip and slide around...
But as it currently stands, the LAV's are horrible to control, (worst from any other game i've ever played)
On that note, when will there be fully customized controls, or at least other controls from the deafult.... (I personally hate having R1 as the trigger, i would much rather prefer R2) |

Their handling is downright terrible, they drive like they have no traction. I'm guessing CCP Blam (vehicle dev) is not very experienced in working on game vehicles. |

Take the gas and brake peddles off the steering wheal on put them on the floor where there suppose to be
R2 = gas L3 = brake Joystick is turning now it dont matter if im on ice I can use the brake and gas to control the traction while I steer. Plus not playing twister on the steering wheel is much more natural |

Yes! Why aren't these the controls already? Only explanation is CCP have never played a console driving game before. Please do fix the controls. |

Yea, exactly feels like there is no traction... or air resistance... (with the drop ship) they just slide around all over the place and then they magically get a ton of air when they hit the tiniest of things
there are SOOOO many games out there with tried and true vehicular mechanics and controls... why is this so bad.... |

Considering how long it takes CCP to implement promised features in-game, this may be understood already. However, the physics and controls need some work. They aren't game-breaking, but they can be annoying.
Traction: if torque has modules, then maybe we should get to swap tires/treads for certain situations. They would modify your traction based on the surface you are driving on. Ice planet? Have some tires with Tritanium-alloy spikes (not explosive when alloyed). Great ice traction, good dirt traction, terrible artificial-surface traction. Bonus to roadkill damage simply because spikes hurt. Other types include knobby-tire (dirt great, ice terrible, artificial OK), flat-rubber (artificial great, terrible at anything else), and channeled treads (no traction loss for wet surface/snowed-in ice). Optional nanofiber "gecko" treads for better grip on steep hills. Equivalent types are available for treads, although only a big difference with the Gecko version.
Controls: Either go full Halo, or have R1/L1 gas and brake (modules are on R2, so currently cannot use that button) with joystick steering.
Suspension: Simply put, we need it. Current LAVs do not seem to have suspension - a real one would break right in have. Maybe go the tire route and have interchangeable suspension to produce a different handling "feel". Springy suspensions allow for good jumps, "luxury" gives the gunner a better firing platform, and then a stiffer version simply puts a little more give into current physics. |
