Spawn points in ambush is way to predictable, and it should spawn you near allies, not spawn you next to the entire enemy team were they can kill you before you even can move and spawn. I know EVE is harsh, and dust should be too...but killing you before you even have a chance to load in the game is broke IMO... especially at camped spawn points on top of the entire enemy team... |

it should give you the option to spawn near your team mates or away from the enemy team
"some times i want to spawn right on-top of the whole enemy team heavy suit with shotgun works well in thous situations
it should just give more players options
AND FOR GODS SAKE PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN THAT PRESS SQUARE TO CHOOSE DEFAULT SPAWN people spawn on a spawn beacon and complain they are being spawn camped and its the only spawn WELL OF COURSE !
i once lost my team the game by capturing the clone reserve facility ....

Lol, yea, but random spawning is just bad, especially if you can get killed before you even load into your shiney expensive clone... Like i want to at least be able to see who shot me before I die... or active a grenade, or something. wait 10 seconds, spawn, "pick new spawn point"... like wtf? Glitch? oh no wait, I was killed BEFORE I EVEN LOADED... |

Mithridates VI wrote:Random spawning is predictable? Well yes... at least in dust there are... There are a limited number of spawn points. You can easy camp them, and since there are no allies around to defend you you just get popped as your loading into the game making it impossible to do anything...
loading >> dead >> pick spawn point >> loading >> dead >> pick spawn point >> loading >> dead
That is the cycle I'm trying to prevent. One thing is the enemy have more isk more tactics, leverage, and defeating you on the battle that way... but when you can't even play the game... that's a whole other issue.
Spawning in the middle of 10 hostiles shouldn't happen constantly...
That would be like someone podding me in in EVE and then i revive at my medical clone and some dude is waiting for me with a pistol in the back of my head as I spawn, killing me over and over again, and I can't do anything... But in eve I can grab a new ship and fly out (as long as the station isn't camped... but there are still ways around that, tactics tactics and more tactics) |

a potential fix to getting killed before you can even move... make the countdown timer AFTER you spawn. Instead of beforehand.
so now those 3 (or 10) seconds you will be loaded in and at least not be blindsided.
the real fix is reworking the entire spawning system, but what are the chances for that? |

Also it feels like I'm constantly spawned pointing the completely wrong direction. Like always facing away from the spawn point towards the edge of map instead. Feels like I have to do a full 360 to get bearings, and know which direction you're facing. Then as soon as you figure that out you get mowed down by a heavy prowling the spawn point |

It isn't necessarily a "spawn camping" problem because (like Mithridates said) spawning is completely random. Most maps have quite a few spawn points to my knowledge (possibly even more than the number of mercs on the map). Some are completely retardedly placed (open field rather than behind obstacles or in nooks and crannies) and that is one of the problems.
In my opinion, though, the major problem is that the spawns being random tends to land you halfway across the map from your own team and right in the thick of the enemy half of the time. Yea, yea, yea. "Random" spawn sets you somewhere randomly, it doesn't aim you in the thick of the enemy as a mechanic. I guess a drop uplink does solve the problem...at least once the game is under way. I suppose some kind of complicated spawning algorithm is off the table but it'd be nice for you to be spawned at one of the many spawn locations nearest the bulk of your team OR just away from everyone rather than straight in the line of fire 80% of the time.
Maybe I'm on hallucinogens, but didn't the teams used to spawn on opposite sides from each other at the beginning of Ambush matches when Open Beta started? I personally didn't hate having to run into the map after the first spawn as it allowed me to not get futt-bucked by three enemies spawning within 4 feet of me seconds after the match starts. As it stands right now, at the beginning of each match you are either the guy with three friends in the prison shower or the guy who just dropped the soap. |

use drop uplink? just dont drop it near 10 red dots ? If some one have brain and drop them smart you will have huge advantage over random spawn red dot. |

It's annoying but to me the randomness is like 60% of the fun....like on initial login. Hell i just wait a few seconds because 90% of the time some fool is going to spawn in next to you...BOOM, easy kill baby. Now spawning inside a HMG love sandwich sucks but doesn't happen often.

I've been in ambush matches where I got X/6 or more, and all but one of those deaths were from "random" spawning in front of 3+ reds or a heavy. |

Actually, yeah, sometimes it is. Ashland is quite predictable if you watch the ebb and flow of the battle, where your blueberries are is usually where the enemy isn't. If you sit on the pipe above the map and the rest of the team is away at the south end, you can see that reds will start spawning behind A, in that covered building in the north west. A short while after they've started spawning there they usually start spawning in the north east. It tends to spawn them in groups too, so if you sit and watch one side and then the other you can catch entire groups out quite easily. I can't be sure but I think the spawning actually occurs in a clockwise fashion around the map, as when I'm on the L pipes I notice people often start spawning by the truck just below me, then over to A, then presumably over to the north east and the probably moving around to the south end.
Manus peak tends to do the same thing after a while, though there it's a bit tricker to follow. Basically if you sit in the bowl too long then you start to get people spawning behind you, to the east (assuming the majority of th fighting is going on between the bowl lip and the rocks to the west), before moving to the south east behind "pride rock." Again they spawn in groups before moving to a new location. Best place to be is on the very southern edge, as you can easily get the drop on people spawning in at pride rock, can watch the bowl, and then you get people spawning in at the south west too, all within easy reach.
Obviously, the initial spawn is completely random, so often the best thing to do is wait about 20 seconds to at least give people to spawn in ahead o you and move off, or get into gunfights with others first, which keeps them distracted. |
