I have 2 things I want to ask. 1. When will they make it to where people on EVE can give isk to Dust corps. 2. When this happens will the Dust corps look more like eve corps.

1. Eventually maybe yes (TM). The trick is atm dust isk =/= eve isk. CCP want to, but theres a lot of tweaking needed first.
2. Dust Corps will get more roles etc as they become relevant. |

problem is i can gain isk in eve a lot faster, if i could suddenly transfer billions of isk from eve to dust that would give me a unfair advantage |

I've heard there might be a tax. So if you transfer 1 bill to your DUST toon, a 70% tax will meet the Dusty relieved 300k.
Essentially, Eve runs at finance levels of a superpower, Dust is a third world country. If the two's economies were joined at an equal level, it wouldn't be anywhere near stable and would explode. |

It could make people want to play eve more because then they could fund the tanks and air ships and players would be like hey lets get on eve so we can become a power house like so and so corp. Ya know what I mean?

It doesn't fit with lore, but what are the odds that we can just make the gear and whatnot in Dust equivalent in price to Eve, and adjust the reward in accoradance with this?
For example, a charge 200k for a single dropsuit (like a frigate) and charge 50 mil for an LAV (Battlecruiser), 200 mil for an HAV (battleship) etc.?
I don't know what the equivalent numbers would actually be - someone smarter would need to figure that out - but wouldn't this resolve the whole ISK transfer issue? |

It might, but it doesn't make sense. EVE battleships are hundreds of meters long- like the size of an Ambush map.
Edit: Sorry, bigger than a Skirmish map in many cases:

I have no idea how the market will fare when Dust and EVE player base expands/shrinks disproportionately, but I am very anxious to see capsuleers throwing money at mercs.
At the moment, I believe the only difference a capsuleer will notice between two mercs is how annoying they are in chat. Eventually, a merc's ability to succeed in combat will also bear some meaning. But I believe that once a merc becomes a financial liability to capsuleers, that merc's individual qualities will begin to have serious meaning to capsuleers. |

You cant do similar prices like that for one why would a tiny little tank cost the same as this massive battleship (look on the internet for eve ship scale its impressive to see how big the ships they fly are supposed to be)
Also dusters should loose there suits and tanks alot more often and a lot easier then a ship in eve. its difficult to manage but our items do need to be cheaper then eve goods considerably.
I dont think a heavy tax between dusters and capsuleers should be used sure we might not be in the same world but isk sinks should not be the way that this is done, how would it work if a duster wanted to pay an eve pilot would they have a huge tax cut aswell thus 30% from capsuleer to duster then 30% bk to capsuleer (100k isk * 0.7 * 0.7 = 49k isk) thats more then half the isk gone even if the margin was smaller it would eventually become insignificant in seperating the two sides.
The only way the isk will be balanced is by how much it costs the players in eve and dust to build the equipment - apart from militia gear I think everything will be built by players and even militia gear one day- and the cost of dust corps to inititate battles e.g. cost of mcc's, cost of battlebarge and cost to run a corp battle assuming that there will be a cost to declare intentions to attack another corps district.
it will all balance one day and isk will flow naturally beween dust and eve once the market settles and prices for goods are stable and corps know how much it will cost to fight a contract. in my experince with capsuleers they will not pay more then they have to, if capsuleers know a standard battle will cost a corp 50 mil in losses they will try to pay as close to that as possible and due to the large number of dusters out there fighting over contracts the profit margin will naturally fall to low levels trying to compete with each other (in eve price wars happen over 0.01 of an isk trying to get the edge over there compition and this is due to them being only marignally over there production cost for the item) . No capsuleer corp is going to pay a dust corp 500 mil for a district battle when the battle will only cost the dusters 50 mil to do due to another corp will offer it for cheaper and so on so forth until dusters are so close to the battle cost that accepting the contract risks loosing money if the battle does not go in the favour.
Although these points doesnt amount to much when you move to null space as with the powerhouses of eve and there trillion isk pockets they will poor countless amounts of isk into funding there personal dusters (I really doubt goonswarm would hire another corporation outside the coalition to defend there planets when they can do it themselves) and will out match any outside corps (will not be long till billion isk corps walk around)

personally, I hope they introduce EvE manufacturing all equipment, territorial conquest (and a reason for eve pilots to want to use them) and open markets at the same time.
Let the poop hit the fan and once the dust settles we will have a balance. In the initial week or 2 the market will be a mess, corps with eve ties will become filthy rich over night cost of equipment will probably sky rocket but eventual the market will settle if only balanced by the amount the EvE pilots are willing to pay dust mercs to fight, and how much dust mercs are willing to pay eve pilots for the goods they are making. once that's done CCP could make a few small tweaks to rewards from pub matches in-line with the new cost of items.
Would be a mess at first but would fix the EvE isk =/= Dust isk in a very short space of time. |
