well hey dusters I'm just here to talk about this lag that happens to me like every few hours ever since the new SP cap was implemented. is this ever going to be fixed? don't get me wrong, i love the new cap but this lag is ridiculous. before the weekly cap i could play until closing call and never experience a flicker of a lag, now every few hours the game goes frame by frame, or i got randomly DC'd. PLEASE fix this CCP id be very grateful :) |

I'm guessing you were in the closed beta? When's the last time you deleted and reinstalled? I've been playing since the two stage maps, infinite vehicles, and dumbfire swarm launchers and the game was sitting at 8.5 GB. I was having these same problems you are talking about. I deleted the game and reinstalled the new 2.5 GB version, and the problems disappeared. |

I don't get framerate issues, I get network lag after a couple hours of play usually. Rubber-banding, delayed shots, all that kind of mess. |

Now I am not sure is it on my home network to blame or DUST-side, as of lately I am having all this quite often, too. |

Usually when it's really bad and persisting through the entire match for me, everyone else in the squad is complaining about it too, so I figure it's not on my end when it gets awful like that. |

I'm pretty sure your internet sucks or you always play in matches from a different region. I never get lag. Period. |

I just wanted to post this, because at this exact moment I'm sitting in a game and the lag is literally unbearable. I'm talking 1-2 frames a second if I'm lucky, and I've had basically no lag all day. This really sucks, and I have to sit the game out because I can't play.

Your experiences do not invalidate my experiences. 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. Seems to be on extended play sessions it just ends up in a string of laggy games, sometimes to the point of being almost unplayable with the amount of delay in actions and rubber-banding. Everyone else on comms gets it at the same time when it gets like that. |

I believe it's a problem with RAM use, it seems to happen to me daily but restarts normally fix it. |

I haven't had framerrate issues at all since I put a SSD into my PS3, and I used to get it every few matches back in Codex with a regular HDD. |

If you think the lag is bad now you should see how it was before Chromosome build came out. HILARIOUSLY BAD! |

You know you're a Dust514 addict when you start getting that bad slide show lag after playing for several hours. Might want to swap out your chair with a port-a-potty. |

I don't really get player lag, only from one person so far.
The game is OK as far as eating bullets, hit detection and rubberbanding goes but sometimes the game can crap out and have huge lag spikes all over the place. |

WOW just WOW , You must have a Private lease line (which most people cannot afford) and the hacking skills more powerful than the current most experience hacker, so you can hack into to all ISP networks worldwide without them knowing to ensure your packages of data take priority over everyone else on the internet. Not to mention coding skills of a geneous so you can inject your own optimising scripts where needed.
Why you're sat around playing games and responding on forums, you would get $millions$ working for any communication provider worldwide period. A guy who can magically avoid all lag all the time period.

If I'm near to or shooting at someone who is lagging it sucks watching them teleport around, but there's nothing I can do for that kind of problem. If it seems like my console is stuttering I just reboot it - that usually does the trick. |

Not complaining just providing data. First background info:
-Got a bug a month ago and had to delete and reinstall the client, so I'm running a clean build.
-My internet connection is pretty solid, i'm 100 m from a fibre hub, and get consistently good d/l and u/l speeds and pings to the battleservers.
-I installed a hybrid drive a couple of months ago, made the game a lot smoother.
Have notice a fair bit of spiky lag lately: screen stutters, rubberbanding, one case where the same assault character ate an entire HMG magazine on two separate occasions in the same match to but took very little damage(all other players died appropiately when standing in the HMG bullet stream).
Also maybe related is the glitch where your hack resets(or forge gun charge resets or swarm launcher lock resets or your character spontaneously stops sprinting). This has been so bad as to make control points and turrets unhackable for me, even after repositioning, jumping, switching weapons, etc. It is making the early sprint for objectives as a scout an absolutely infuriating process. This has been fairly common lately, but then again some matches are flawless.
Rebooting PS3 seems to fix most of the lag, but the hacking reset bug is more persistant, i'm thinking something else is going on. |

this is how every build goes. *Release New Build = Smooth gameplay *Hot Fix = horrible lag introduced as well as older bugs that were once resolved.
1 step forward, 2 steps back.
yes, the game lags, it is most likely not your connection but CCP's network code/server load
they really need to get on it and make this a smooth gameplay experience for everyone. for the most part i see it looks smooth, people don't usually look like they're lagging but damage done to them isn't being registered... its lagging just not visually.
why does the game actually end 5 seconds before you are told its ended? i think lag. |

Yeah a hard reset on my PS3 and modem usually works for me too, i figure its from all the junk data left on the system even after battles. CCP should really work on that, because its really time consuming having to reset and wait for everything to load up, then get my squad back together. especially since i play so late and my play time is usually just a count down until downtime. does anyone know when the new build is due? and no, i wasnt on the closed beta i jumped on the bandwagon as soon as it hit the PS store |
