Heya all!
As many of you will know, to celebrate DUST 514 hitting open beta, a few people from the dust community and I did a 24 hour live stream of Dust 514 to raise money for Child's Play, a charity that helps visits sick and terminal children in hospitals all over the world and brings them a little happiness through the magic of video games old and new. Anyone who has sent an extended amount of time in hospital can tell you that its not exactly the most pleasant experience and terribly boring, something I can testify to first hand.
In the last event, we manage to raise $326 for charity, and i think thats fantastic, but i think that with all the people that are now in dust, we can BEAT that record!
So! i was thinking, why not do a charity event after each new build up untill the game comes out of beta with a big event when that happens? It will get dust's name out there and raise money for a worthy cause!
Anyone who would like to get involved again is welcome to, just be warned that after the 21st hour of playing dust non-stop, I think i was starting to hallucinate lol.
Now, I have no idea when the next build is, but considering its been a while now, I'd like to think its soon. And as such, whenever it is, once downtime finishes on the new build, i will be streaming :)
lets see if we can reach $500 this time! |

Jenza, this is an utterly fantastic thing you are doing and I strongly urge anyone with the capabilities to stream to join in. I know I will be directing everyone in my corp to this thread and its great that we also will be giving Dust 514 some advertising. Its like getting two jews with one penny (that was a joke). |

I like the idea of making this a regular thing. Charity events are like a snowball rolling down hill. $300 then more and more and more  You can count me in Jenza.
Also, I think it'd be great if we could tie in streams from the upcoming tournament and put donation buttons on them for Child's Play if folks were interested as well. |

sounds like an interesting idea. You can get in touch with childs play, im sure they can help you do that. |
