When the skills say they add +5% or -3%, how is the math on that calculated? Like is Level 1 +5%, Level 2 +10, etc. or is it Level 1 = base + 5%, Level 2 = result from Level 1 + 5%, etc.
There is a difference. I'll show below:
Base = 50
Method 1 (Level 1 = +5%, Level 2= +10%, etc)
Level 1 = 52.5
Level 2 = 55
Level 3 = 57.5
Level 4 = 60
Level 5 = 62.5
Method 2 ( Level 1 = base + 5%, Level 2 = result from Level 1 + 5%, etc.)
Level 1 = 52.5
Level 2 = 55.125
Level 3 = 57.88125
Level 4 = 60.7753125
Level 5 = 63.814078125
Just trying to figure this out for something I'm working on. |

Its method 1. Its a simple increase and not a complex increase.
Damage mods are excused though. They are broken.
Laser rifles are excused too. Their stats dont work. |

Yes it is the 1st method. And the values seem to be rounded down to an integer.
And as a sidenote I might add that skills increasing stats are calculated before any modules are added.
For example:
You have level 5 Field Mechanics giving +25% to your dropsuits and vehicles armor.
You drive a Methana with one 60mm Reinforced Steel Plating module.
Your total armor is 2461. (1425 x 1.25 + 680)
And NOT 2631. ((1425 + 680) x 1.25) |

In EVE its multiplicative (option 2). Not sure where these two above are getting their info as CCP has not given any info on this. However, it could be either 1 or 2. At this point I don't think anyone can say for sure. |

My "Raven" dropsuit has a base CPU of 150. I have circuitry trained to five.
Method 1:
150*1.25 = 187.5
Method 2:
((((150*1.05)*1.05)*1.05)*1.05)*1.05 = 191.442234375
My actual CPU in the fitting screen is 187.
I think you'll find we're operating under system number one (with one small hiccup). |
