How does controlling districts and planets benefit corps?
I'm guessing they hire mercenaries to control land because they make a profit mining resources there? |

Not yet. the plan is that we will be able to install some sort of scanner that boost our districts output of materials. From there we can tax the material amounts for anyone that decides to use it. Intelligently we would only tax 50% of the added bonus of materials being exported from our territories.
This will require updates from eve online side though. |

In Eve you can build installations on planet surfaces. There you can extract and process various items. A lot of which are fairly vital. When two Capsuleers extract in close proximity to each other yields start to drop. I'm not 100% sure on the specifics but i'm pretty sure controlling a district will give you extracting rights. That is were us Dust bunnies come in, to seize and defend districts for our soonGäó to be overlords. |

I am sure that crowding a planet's resources does not effect yield. Then again I only run a wetware computer chain. |

Its called resource depletion. Planets regenerate materials overtime and having to many extractors in an area causes a slowing effect. |

It will also cause the "hotspots" to move over time. I know that when I run extractors full out for awhile in an area, the good locations shift away from my extractors. |

Currently, there is no benefit. But later tehre will be benefits. Having the same corp / alliance control a planet means resources will be able to gathered faster on the EVE side via a spacebridge. They are also thinking about things such as if you have both Planetary and Space SOV, there will be +% modifiers for certain skills and such.

Like I was saying, snapshots for long runs don't seem to change much over time regardless of any new people showing up. |

In the foreseeable future there will be an impact made by Dust Bunnies on the colonies run by Capsuleers. This is because Planetary Interation (PI) materials make up practically 98% of the parts needed to construct a control tower that every Capsuleer needs to mine moons and/or produce Supercapital ships like the Erebus or Avatar.
This means that POS construction is entirely dependent on PI materials being supplied by the planets and have no other source. POS fuels are also mostly gathered from PI. This will be a big deal one day once Dust Bunnies start making an impact on that. |

Mining dust514 style:
Skill into a mining laser, join a game, look straight down at the ground.... hold the fire button. In one minute incriments that laser will bore its way into the ground and you will get materials. However, seeing as these lasers are very small compared to mining barge strip miners, the yield is incredibly small and is incredibly boring. Sorry for the troll. |
