Alot of people have been moaning that with so many people using all militia items when your paying through the nose for your custom loadout (I'm DEFINATLEY one of said people XD)
So my idea is to let players choose games based on Meta levels, We all seen it, the better the item, the higher the meta level, so why not have games with a min total Meta level count? so if you wanna play with militia items go ahead, just you'll only be allowed to use militia gear in the lower Meta level games where as if you wanna play with full Proto ect you can join the higher Meta Level games against people who have the same total meta level?
This way everyones happy, People can't moan their getting killed by people with lesser gear than them and on the other hand no one can moan about people having better gear than them.
Would love peoples thoughts and even ideas on this? what you all think? |

I wouldn't mind this, except that right now, I can't really say that gear matters all that much. I know I'm probably going to get hosed for saying that, but I feel it's true. The Militla AR, for example, is just as effective against an unmodded/unbuffed Militia Suit, as it is against an unmodded/unbuffed Proto Suit. The base stats for the suits stays the same from lowest tier, to the highest.
Sure, no one really goes running around the battle field without mods and buffs, but why risk my better gear when I can run bottom rung equipment and still tear through you top tier stuff.
Pub matches might benefit from this, but you'd still run into the same problems when it comes to Corp Matches (as I'm pretty sure that Corps wouldn't want this affecting their matches) and FW as well.
Right now it doesn't really feel like there's much use even buying the higher tier stuff. It's a lot of time and effort and ISK to skill into, and buy, the things that you want for not a whole lot of return.
And I'm not saying that gear should be the "end all be all" of the game, since there is obviously so much more that goes into it than that. But why waste my time and ISK, if the effect of getting that Top Tier Proto equipment is going to negligable? |

Well Hagi thats the point I'm trying to make, since the differnce in gear levels is so small really it's off putting to put the SP and ISK into skills to get the higher end items since you can do nearly just as well with the militia gear.
If a Meta level system was introduced the rewards could be reflect the Meta Levels, For example people in the lower Meta level games would get so much ISK and SP where as people playing in the higher Meta Level games will get a bigger reward. That way Getting the skills for Proto gear ect and better mods to bunk your meta level up will be more appealing since you can then enter the higher end games for better prizes where as if you wanna be one of those people who just wanna be in Militia gear for the rest of your Dust career then you'll never get the rewards that people who do buy better gear ect can get.
For example again Lower Meta level games can yield standard item salvage ect where as Higher Meta level games could yield Officer grade weapons rather than how it is at the moment where If say me and you go into a game with full Proto ect do well but only get a little bit more than people who run around in the starter kits |
