I was in a turret, which I think had full armour and shields. I was shooting at enemy troops, when a sniper insta-killed me in the turret. Is this intended or is it a bug? I personally think this makes snipers over powered, if they can insta-kill in turrets with full armour and shields. |

Yes, you are not actually in a turret even though the prompt says, "Enter Turret". Use or Access would better describe what you are doing.
Pay attention to others using turrets and you will notice they are standing next to it. They are easy snipe targets if they choose the wrong side to access it.
Use the protected side, if there is one. |

Indeed. You can identify the protected side by whichever side I am not on. |

That was me. Like they said, you don't actually get in it, you just stand beside it. Very important which of the 4 sides of the turret you stand on, always think about that. |

dude there are so many bugs with snipers its actually hard to snipe some one maning a turent or vehicle with the blue shield affect where we shoot and nothings hapens or the fact that the items shields and srmour are protecting you please before you request some thing try both ends snipers are not op the only way we kill you is either a headshot (1 shot kill most of the time) or multiple body shots |

I always though I was inside the turret until I saw someone else standing next to it using it.
It makes you think you are entering it. |

Enter turret should be renamed to Use turret, Control turret, or similar.
Yeah the Enter part makes it confusing when you're actually just standing in the open next to it (I learned the hard way too).

I saw something this morning before shutdown I had never noticed before.
Two separate Mercs on two separate Turrets in an Ambush OMS match were standing on the outer corner of the Turret. First, imagine the Turret like an eight sided asterisk with the cross section being rather short. I always stand next to the shorter section as that means only 90 degrees of access to shooting me in the back.
These two stood at the outer edges. There were both Blues and I noticed as I left them that they were easily visible for slightly more than 180 degrees. With the current Hit Detection Issues it is doubtful if the end of the arcs would be able to make a good hit but anywhere else and those were dead Mercs.
Made me think of this thread, oddly enough. |

It's a common mistake people make, I explained to my friend already that when your using a turret your not literally inside it, your only using your (what I assume is the Neocom) to remote control the turret, your still vunerable if not more vunerable when using a turret. |

Also, people often don't realise they are hit as personal HP is quite small on the bottom left and thus hard to see.

I think the wording is just a carry-over from early builds, where you actually got in a little rotating seat that you operated the installation from (much different installation appearance), so you were kind of "inside" it even though it was exposed from the top. |
