Working as a team is hard enough without proper communication. But the lack of information within the HUD creates an even larger barrier between players and teamwork.
- One essential is squad mate Shield and HP display. If you're familiar with RPGMMOs then you'l know exactly what I mean. There should be a listing of your squad mates on the left or right side of with their shield and armor. This would be the great place for indicator that shows which squad mate is currently speaking and it will help medics and logis know who will or needs their immediate attention.
- Secondly, when aiming at an enemy or even worse multiple enemies the displays of their name,shields, and armor can overlap and get in the way. What would be better is if the enemy's shield and armor bars were display beside your crosshairs via two separate semi circles on either side of the crosshairs.
- Next, would be a indicator for those with Nano Hives to know who needs ammunition. Also, the same thing for logis to know who needs a repair. Maybe even give us the ability to flag ourselves as "Running low" or "In need of repair". For those who are wondering how this would work think of how the squad leader calls in orders like Attack, Defend, and so on. In order to pull up the flag menu Press and hold R2, then click L3 (rather than R, which is used for squad orders), then a menu displays flag options "Need Ammo" or Need Repair", from there you just move the analog in the direction of the flag you want placed on you.
Of course for those who would prefer selective information, it would be nice if there was a check list located in the options so that you can pick and choose what information you want on your HUD.
If anyone else can think of any helpful HUD information that should be implemented please list in replies. |
