There we go. Whad'ya think of that? Maybe even 8 mins, i just want to justify playing skirmish again ^^
It also leaves SP opportunities open for future game modes that could last even longer |

I was about to suggest modifying soft cap: (note: numbers are examples, they can be modified up or down)
Every 1min in a game increases the soft cap by 100 max SP.
If u visit game very briefly for 2mins it is 200.
If you play a lengthy skirmish of 14 mins you can gain 1400 SP.
The beauty of this system would be that different game types are equal. Currently after reaching the weekly cap ambushes are the way to go grind, skirmishes don't make sense.

How about tiring extra SP to a victory in skirmish. It would mean there is something on the line then. +1000 Sp for a win. |

Most of the suggestions I've seen for SP cap per minute or similar seem to ignore the fact that every game type requires the same amount of time for navigating the menus and queuing. Players trying to maximise SP will take this into account when picking a game mode.
I think your system would favour skirmish players too heavily, such that SP farmers would never leave skirmish. If we give an ambush match a maximum time of 10 minutes (what's the timer on an ambush match?) and we say that it takes 5 minutes to queue for any game, each ambush match takes 15 minutes of game time and you can play four of them in an hour.
We'll work with the maximum time limit for best case scenario. A ten minute ambush match raises the SP cap to 1000 SP for that match. Four matches would net you a total SP gain of 4000 SP.
If you use the same hour to line up for longer skirmish matches at a low estimate of 15 minutes each, which is a total queue and play time of 20 minutes each, you can play 3 matches in an hour. Each 15 minute match has a maximum SP gain of 1500, bringing total SP for the hour to 4500.
Over many hours and longer smirkishes/shorter ambushes, this would become a lot more noticeable.
Playing and regularly queuing for ambush isn't efficient if every minute that passes while between games could have been a minute you were using to raise your SP cap. |

we voted on this like what, two weeks ago?
This is a temporary measure until CCP makes full changes to the SP system.
Play ambush if you want to ***** for SPs, play Skirmish if you like it more, or are masochistic or something. |

Yeah, then people can concentrate on all the other aspects of the game.
It's obvious CCP is going to limit the pace of progression, so why make us grind for it? Just make it passive and folks can play hit ever mode they enjoy most as much as they want. |
