Why is it that the SMG has worse hip fire accuracy than the AR and why does it have a slower ADS turning speed than the HMG?
Oh and I know it is just a side arm but still.... |

its a spray an' pray weapon. Upgrade to breach its got better aim and range.
Your right though, it is meant as a back up. When I used the venom, I got loads of kills with it (at close range). Now I get loads of kills with my breach. Don't need to be accurate. Thats what assault rifles are for.
The differences in weapons create veriety. If your looking for an MP5 style smg then maybe they'll be a Caldari SMG one day. |

smg is projectile, ar is plasma
projectile kick more then plasma
future plasma smg would be very low kick, projectile rifle would be very high kick. |

Like others said, it's a spray-n-pray weapon meant to be fired from the hip in hectic situations. Why are you surprised by this? This is something anyone expects from an SMG. |

The accuracy doesn't bother me that much but the slow ADS turning speed does. A heavy with HMG turns faster ADS than a Heavy with SMG ADS.
I am not complaining. I still am get kills where an HMG would have failed me. |

the problem is the turning speed of the gun while in ADS, it's a ******* small weapon, it might have inmense recoil because of that, but i don't know why my turn speed becomes lower than a heavy while actually aiming...
It's like CCP is telling you: "see, the sight turns when you try to ADS, do you like it? well, now don't ever try to use it again..." |

I think the ADS speed is based on the type of scope/sight used on the weapon.
And I look forward to those being modular and fully customisable so people who want a shot zoom and a good ADS accuracy buff at the cost of turn speed can have it on their choice of weapon. With certain limitations of course, because sticking a sniper scope on a Forge Gun probably wouldn't work out very well. |

Not quite true.
If you have another weapon which isn't a Shotgun or Swarm Launcher, and you're using ADS while close enough not to be able to stay on target, you're doing it wrong. |

breach SMG has 30% less dps and 1 meter less range over the regular SMG for a MINOR accuracy boost. in short, worst advice ever. |

SMG is a fine art fo spray and pray as much as knowing when it's a good time to ADS. ADS on a stationary target headshots are super quick and efficient. ADS while that assault is reloading is another good example. |

The turn speed when aiming is actually due to the graphics of the sights, best guess. I think the PS3 lags a bit when it has to render them. Not 100% sure on that, but they do have more graphical influence sights than anything else iirc. Particularly, I suspect the 'glass' effect has something to do with it. |
