Since there will be Racial dropsuits and many more weapons into the future, i would really like the ability to respec my character since they will have their own tree. Especially since there is only one dropsuit for each class.
There is nothing wrong with paying to respec your character. We already pay to gain SP faster. |

Indeed there is nothing wrong with paying to respec, its a service its only right you should pay for it, however:
CCP seems to have a blanket policy regarding skill points. Basically unless they change the core of the game, in which case they refund the skill points (see learning skill in eve online) of useless skill, they never will allow a respec, once youve spent your sp, they are spent.
This could change though.
I wouldn't care if such a system existed, but I wouldn't use it. |

It at least should be a one time deal. Its not like we have any choice to what Suit we can choose in each class. Maybe just respec the suit category, and weapon category. But leave the other categories untouched. |

Well, if I specced solely into Tanks from the get go and then some big change comes along to balance them in some way (we'll say a negative light, as such was the case a few builds ago) then I can just change everything and suddenly be a sniper. It takes a lot of the Specialization out of things - you spent time and effort into that specialization and on a whim you just changed it.
Pretty much takes out the risk/reward aspect, you didn't technically -earn- those skills; you just recycled skill points into them.
This creates an issue because if my corporation declares war on yours, and you deploy mostly tanks - I react by deploying AV guys. The next battle your entire team suddenly are using Prototype Assault suits to counter my AV guys who were expecting heavy vehicle usage; all because you had money to throw at the problem where as we did not.
It's a major power imbalance. The guys with the most real-life money have the upper hand - always. |

Most large corporations have enough members that they wouldn't need to totally respec a character, they would just have to swap out members for the next battle. So, honestly this would have no effect to corp battles between the ones high on the leader boards.
Even if a group did take it to that extreme, so what? If you go into a battle and only have one set plan you are probably going to lose anyways. You still have to spend time to get the initial SP. If you havent noticed yet in the market place, they are going to be selling "Skill Spikes" which are temporary skill clusters.... so what you stated will probably be done anyways. Only respecing is permanent and is more beneficial.
Like me, i have most of the weapons to lvl 2 besides assault rifle, mainly because i had no idea what i wanted to use. I have been playing since open beta, and everyone who has been playing prior to open beta already know what they want to do because they have had a chance to try everything. I would love if i could get those wasted SP back and get lvl 5 Assault Rifle and put the rest into Light Weapon Upgrade.
When they bring in new suits, i will automatically want Assault Gallente armor since my character is Gallente. But i already have Caldari to lvl3 and switching over to try and get Gallente armor would only put me behind.
When someone respecs, they can only get what they have worked for. Your post makes it sound like by respecing, you can get ahead of everyone. |

I know I posted it in the other thread, but I'm going to post it here too.
I think they should give us a one time only respec. Once the release client hits, it expires, and if you didn't use it then you lose it. |
