HOMEBREW!! I've also been known to drink lots rum, preferably from the freezer but it could be over ice ( not too much, don't wanna water it down). Cider (farmhouse style) has to be one of my all time favs though, it's amazing what you can do with just apples and yeast. |

Home distillation is quite illegal in the states, from what I hear Aussies and others have much more lax tax laws so no sharing from me because that would be against the law! |

Distillation =/= homebrewing, BIG difference, though you can 'still a bad batch of beer (or anything). Ice distillation might be legal (depending on locale) if you keep it within 1% of the original volume. |

A great reason to homebrew. There are a lot of clone recipes( pun intended ) that are available online that will get you close at a fraction ($.50-$.75) a bottle. The main problem is it takes precious video game time, but it could be something to do after you cap for the week . |

I'm in luck, a homebrew shop opened up literally a mile down the road. Before that I almost always bought online the guy running hearts homebrew in central florida was always an a**hole for some reason. I guess he got entitled because he was the only game in town . When I do purchase online there are 3 places I stick to: brewmasters warehouse,
midwest supplies,
and northern brewer.
Northern brewer and brewmasters warehouse both had flat rate shipping last time I checked. Midwest supplies had cheaper grains and malt extract but it only matters if you're buying in smaller quantities because they charge shipping by weight. Nothing beats cracking open a case of homebrewed beer with your friends and family, even if it's only now and then. I'll have to keep an eye out for the Flor de cana, can't pass up on a good ice cold rum ! |
