So, I have a Hauppauge pvr 2, here lies the problem
I have a ps3 wireless headset, if I have it plugged into my ps3 then the PVR doesn't record the sound from the game.
If I have the headset plugged into my computer, I get sound recorded and can hear the game as i play, but of course sound is coming from the recording so there is a 3-4 sec delay in sound.
I've tried many things but none working.
I have no idea at this point and have found lil' to no information on the net, I'm relying on the community at this point.
Connections for ps3 have to go as follows.
Component from ps3 to PVR, USB from PVR to computer, HDMI from PVR to t.v |

The closest I have come to solving this problem is to change your audio output settings on the ps3 so that all mic sounds play back through "default device" (the tv) which makes it so you can't hear it in your headset, but it gets picked up on the recording. Somebody else may have found a better way. |

Damn, was worried about this.
Because you can then only hear comms via the tv while you need the headset to speak, and with those earphones.....your not going to hear the tv let alone your squad.

LILZINHO has a setup that works better than mine, no idea what it is though. I need to tweak mine a bit, and hook my PVR back up. |

If you happen to have a DJ mixer you can hook up the component cords to the mixer and the mixer to the computer giving you full control of the sound. you can set the audio to use the HDMI but still get sound out of the component cables. That way your headset should work. You could also try using a HDMI splitter and other software to record but that would require a HDMI port on the computer instead of the USB. |

Have hdmi port on the computer x3, however the pvr requires the USB.
Unfortunately I don't have a DJ Mixer laying around lol 
so much work! |

I have an original Hauppauge HD-PVR with a pretty convoluted setup that involves a HDMI splitter and a HDFury2.
The problem here is the way the PS3 headphones work, via a proprietary setup within the PS3 software. Is there any analog connections on them that allow for a standard 3.5mm or 1/4" jack? I don't have a PS3 wireless set so I can't really help there, as I use a Onkyo receiver with Sennheiser headphones.
What inputs does your HD-PVR have? On mine I have component video, composite video and audio, and optical audio in. Have you tried setting dual output in the audio settings on the PS3? Perhaps you could dual output and go from your PS3 to the HD-PVR with optical audio. The headphones may still disable the audio coming from optical, but may be worth a try. |
