Heya, about to create some design principles I have noticed either lacking, problematic, or need clarification. Would you please answer these questions as I gather more data.
1. Isk returns. The current isk design is based off war points and placement, which albeit simple, lacks the authoritative flair that your actions result in better rewards.
An reward based system on killing or destroying enemy infantry or vehicles results in isk based off the damage and destruction of their suits or vehicle. Is this possible with your engine.
2. Why is this beta not in Brazil (Brasil you political *****), they are the world's 5th largest economy and constantly growing. Internet currently costs two weeks of a workers wage, so a free game, especially with room mates will expand the player base astronomically.
3. What is the design philosophy about the mass driver, what is its focus?
4. Mercenary Tab tournaments with enforced standard gear or advance gear. Maybe forced preselections. For an even tournament feel with unique rules, like no vehicles or only vehicles. Only heavies or only logis, etc. Recommend weekly.
5. Matchmaking is broken. Put one group on one side, put another group on the other, add up skillpoint totals and they should be as close as possible. I have heard the current design will work with more players, what is it.
6. Frame rate issues, eta?
7. Map design, is completely one dimensional. Create cities and use your current block/texture randomizer to create a vast amount of 3 dimension maps, underground, level, above ground.
8. Weapons... Lasers seem alright, maybe more damage to shields and a lot less to armor. ARs, seem fine, the all around weapon with no specialty, but breach, burst, and tactical need some work. Heavy machine guns... honestly do not see them as much of a threat, very limited, very tactical use. Submachine guns... need a range boost by providing a cyclic fire mode. Lack the cqc ability of any gun if no range increase and will need to be buffed off that principle. Mass drivers.. so what's the point of these so I can comment. Pistols.. love em, hate em, feel alright, just weird that a pistol is stronger than an AR... Snipers... players who play like a ***** make good use of the weapon, very one dimensional, very large range with no effective counter if properly placed.
Armors... Should better armors be better all around, or simply specialized?
Game modes... ambush does not need a random spawning system unles redlined, than an alternate spawn activates. Skirmish... needs better maps...
