Hello guys.
It's been 3 weeks since I'm in the Beta and this issue has pretty much been since I joined. The issue is that most of the time voice is not working, when I join a squad I don't see the green icons besides player names. But, oddly, when I toggle PTT On and then Off again, my mic starts transmitting my voice to my Squad/Team (whichever mode is active), but I'm not able to hear them back. I have a Bluetooth mic with an LED Timer to show me the minutes and if the voice is being transmitted. Again, oddly, after toggling PTT to On and then Off, it just transmits my voice for something around 2 mins or so, and the timer quits, meaning the voice is not being transmitted anymore. I have to toggle PTT just as before to repeat the same behavior.
Moving on, this issue fixes itself automatically at any moment irrespective of restarting the PS3 or reloading the game or switching my mic off and on. At sometimes, it fixes itself at the time of deployment in battle, at the loading screen where you see the tips. And it arises again at anytime, at just anytime.
These are the things I've tried to fix it with no luck:
1. Reset-ted the game. Installed it again, I mean. 2. Deleted the Save files. 3. Tried using the PS3 Eye-fi Cam/Mic, same issue. 4. Tried using another account. |

Have you read the Port Forwarding post?
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=27899&find=unread
Also google ps3 port forwarding (or some combination) should lead you to the playstation network requirements. I don't have a link for that but there are different ports for DUST, voice chat and many other things. That is how I found it lo these many months ago.
Hope this helps. Unfortunately that is all I have. |

My PS3 is a NAT 2. I play other multiplayer games too so it's setup as a virtual server in my router. That means all inbound and outbound ports are accessible by the PS3.
Conclusion: it's not a port issue.
Thatnx for replying +1'd you there! :) |

Well just wanted to say I got the same problem, but it only hits me if I am in a squad of more then 2 people.
You might call me insane, but I have all ports forwarded and every protection/firewall on my router disabled, and so far NOT ONE GAME be it PS3 or PC had a portforwarding issue. Ofcourse some games had crappy voice support (anyone remembers the beginning of BF3 (the first 3 or six months)).
But since this is a beta I am positive CCP will look into this an fix it.
PS.: And yes I could play MAG without any problems until they closed every server except for the East and West coast server in the USA. |

Every multiplayer I ever played, never had a voice chat problem.
Apparently, it's the voice servers that keep kicking me out all the time. Many people are experiencing this. They're not complaining maybe because they're too lazy to complain and are good with "restarting the system" every-time a glitch is encountered. It's a sad attitude towards beta gaming. |
