I know this game is still being worked on, so I guess the devs should know that the Tier 1 versions of any base weapon is roughly 10%~30% better than their Tier 2 counterparts. Tier 1s are also cheaper, making Tier 2s more than obsolete. Tier 2s are more of a burden than a boon. My suggestion is that they improve upon the base model instead of trying to re-balance the base model. |

Sort of. The breach, tactic, and burst can all be attachments instead. I don't understand why we can't have a larger rounded, burst fire, sniper scoped assault rifle if we have the ISK to make it so... |

It depends what weapon you using. To me the burst, and the tactical riffle tier 2, are clearly allot better than the tier 1 ones. My only problem is that they cost to much ISK, so they are hard to maintain. To restock my favorite "average" dropsuit, i need 30,000 ISK per suit, with means, that i need to finish in the the top 4 players in every battle, and don't die more than 6 times to restock and make a "small" profit.
Any way my point is that, tier 1 and tier 2 needs to be close together, so you can roll back to tier 1 when you need to. So you can build up some ISK when you running out.
The other solution will be to make tier 2 a bit more cheaper, so it is easier to maintain. But i can't see that happening, do you ? |

The sidegrade weapons you get at level 2 and 4 are not superior. they are variants that are more niche and situational. they are there for bobby shootsalot who'se playstyle is somewhere between assault rifle and sniper, or the guy who loves hipfire.
They are not better. I cannot stress this enough. They allow for variant tactical consideration. |

My sympathy for your cost per fit is miniscule. here, let me share with you my fits
Raven assault with GEK-38 and decent modules: 40,000 ISK Raven laser rifle with crapfits: 20,000 ISK Sever logistics with mass driver and OK fit: 40,000 ISK Type II heavy with MH-82 HMG: 75,000 ISK Type I heavy with MH-82 HMG: 45,000 ISK. Type II heavy with Assault Forge: 40,000 ISK Type II heavy with Ishukone Assault Forge: around 150,000 ISK and still suboptimal for the job.
These fit costs rise each day as I move up module levels and abandon lesser fits. I have blown over a mil in dropsuits pretty casually in pubmatches when I face solid enough opposition, because I want to kill them, very very badly. |
