Been posted before. Try searching for Brink.
Lame idea from a lame game with real cartoon characters and their leader Never Shuts Up!
Mediocre game with bad parkour movement solution even though marketed as a highlight of the game. |

It would be better to explain why its a bad idea than to just trash the game. |

Well, you are effectively dead and can't hold the syringe, much less inject yourself with it.
And then the logi would have to hang around to get it back or leave his equipment behind.
I say allow anyone so worried about his KDR to opt for a "Do Not Resuscitate" order at the start of the match. Then he doesn't show up as revivable, nor can he be revived. |

As others said, it's been brought up before. I however think its a great idea.
Best revive mechanic. Let medic throw you a "syringe" and you decide if and when you want to revive yourself. @Skihids: It's a game, you can make up whatever lore you want. For example, when you are "downed" you aren't dead... just incapacitated/dieing. You have the "bleedout" time to be tossed an injector to heal yourself. If not tossed in time, or you don't inject yourself in time, you finally die.
Like I said, I personally like it... but its not a biggie for me. I just bleedout just before the revive, when I see an idiot try and "Rambo-rez" me in front of a firing squad of 5 enemies. This saves me the auto-death, and teaches the dummy a lesson. Make sure the area is clear, before you blindly try and revive someone. |

Are any of you a Logi? I pretty much run exclusive Logi for the reason I like being a medic. Giving the optional revive is already there, the respawn or call for help sit in front of you. It's as simple as making a choice right there.
Side note, I Rambo-rez people all the time. I pick and choose when I do it and think about it but many times I have to run out in the open revive someone and start repping them as fast as I can get the tool to lock on. You aren't teaching anyone a lesson. if it's to dangerous for the Logi be nice and just respawn. |

What if you have to call for help before a medic even has the option to pick you up. So a person could assess the situation and either call for help if the coast is clear, or re-spawn.
Because sometimes I wait for a little bit to see if it's going to clear up, then out of the blue I get a syringe jabbed into me and yell "oh god nooooo!!!" boomboomboomboomboom ughhhhh arrrrghhhhhhh...... |

Not really dead, just severely wounded. We're alive enough to be able to commit suicide, so I think we should be able to inject ourselves. Its not really about whether or not you want to be resuscitated, but about when is the most tactically advantageous time to be resuscitated. Sometimes you want to be revived, but just not the exact second where a medic gets to you. |

Or not introduce lame gimmicks into the game, just give us a simple yes/no option... |

There's a difference between not wanting to be revived and not wanting to be put right back down after said revive. A yes/no option would work perfectly. |

I dislike this idea unless i still get points for standing you up... cause i can rev with 80% armor and then constantly rep you while your getting shot (unless your getting shot by like 5 geks then god help us both...) one thing that i think really needs to be worked on is how long it takes for the revived person to get back into the fight. if im rezzing you in the middle of combat its most likely because im hoping your a better combatant than I.
sometimes the Rambo logi isn't doing it to be a **** but trying to get you up so you can do your thing while he does his. |

If you don't want a res, respawn immediately, generally its better to revive at first opportunity, or you will bleed out and die over time. |

The original posts (not this thread) went on about Logi Bros jerking Mercs back to life when they wanted to die. Well, press Circle. Poof, problem solved.
The Brink solution was posited there and the response was "press Circle".
Ignoring my chance to trash Brink once more this is a DUST only reply:
Adding the toss mechanic requires more animation sequences: aiming and tossing an object at an target.
Considering that grenades barely work today. That Nothing can be thrown at a specific target accurately. Nothing can catch anything either. It just seems like a pipe dream to think that all that is going to be implemented just to change the battlefield dynamic that CCP likes.
Which is:
Merc gets mostly killed (no head shot, explosions or grenades). Downer decides Not to press Circle. Logi Bro finds Downer. Switches to Injector. Stabs repeatedly somewhere close by Downer. If that all happens in time the Downer becomes a Merc once more.
The entire reasoning is the Logi Bro Must Go To The Downed Merc. Tossing it breaks that dynamic. It makes reviving Safer for the Logi Bro.
It certainly was in Brink. |
