I cannot use the sprint button at all. It will bring up windows bound to the directional buttons. Issue was reported (link below) , but i do not see this as resolved. Can anyone confirm this is happening to them? Is there a fix in the works?

I got this a lot with my old controller. It was getting so ridiculous that I was like opening the map, the leaderboard, crouching and throwing a grenade all at once.
I eventually got a new controller and it hasn't happened since. I'm sure that's not the fix you want to hear, but that's all I've got for you.
As a side point, is your L3 joystick side worn away on the side that faces upwards (in other words, you can push the L3 stick further up than you normally could)? |

Plugging in a second controller to charge it drove DUST bonkers. Unusable menus bonkers.
I tested my old controller against several of my games and DUST is the only one that had problems with it. It was aging but every other game in my collection still works with it. DUST seems to want us to spend money. Not only on AUR.

Well CCP isn't getting any kickbacks from you buying a Sony product, as far as I know.
As far as the broken controllers go, I was having problems in Dark Souls as well with it switching every weapon and item at the same time. The only similarity I see between the two is that they make pretty heavy use of the d-pad (I haven't really tested other games). I only have one plugged in right now.
EDIT: I should add that they're aware of problems connecting a second controller may cause, as touched on in this post. |

This is actually a controller problem rather then a game problem. You'll find that when treating a controller rather abusively it will activate other buttons on the the controller. Mainly the directional buttons. Things break over time, you know? Try not to be rough on the analog sticks and you'll be just fine. |

So you're saying I should stop feeding it through the wood chipper? |

Actually continue doing so. After extended play I found that the game simply refuses to acknowledge what you're doing. The basic deployment and neocom menus pop up. But my game decided it also wants to stop shooting from time to time and not even allow me to finish a hack, it simply resets itself as it pleases. Truly game breaking, I'm about to set this game down until an update with fixes to this issue. |

Interestingly enough, the controller in question is not that old. I hardly played my ps3 until now, so I suppose I could get another. I just didn't expect this to be a hardware issue after skimming over the other thread. |

I have had issues with the R3 button as recently as last night (Feb 6/13) where I go to knife someone and get the list of players in game or some other pop up window that takes game control away until I close that window. By that time I am dead.
This sounds an awful lot like the L3 issue that the OP was talking about and for me, it makes the game unplayable. |
