I'm assuming today's downtime will reset the sp as per vlads post, does that mean the no lifer grinders that made all of the WEEKLY SP all yesterday will now get to do it again ? In effect giving them a (dependent how much an average joe plays) additional week if sp
I managed to play for 3 hours last night and only managed 80k sp. if I knew this was grind to win and the cap was going to reset today, I probably wouldn't have slept so I could keep up. Now I'm at a disadvantage to the guy that didn't have to go to work yesterday. |

Yup, after DT today, the weekly SP resets, meaning 24/7 players can get an additional 285,000 SP in ~10 hours. And with 1,500 SP per match (at most, with booster), they will be 100% max skill and proto in a few short weeks. Give it a few months, and they will surpass EVE's near billion SP achievement.
1000-1500 SP per match max keeps capped players playing, but it is way to much for the 24/7 players, which means they will be millions ahead of weekly cap players in just a few short weeks.
CCP, better be careful with this... As I think they underestimate the grinding no-lifes that currently exist on console gaming. If the no-life 24/7 grinders of Dust don't take it easy, we might see another SP reset again just to retain balance and order. |

Good words here. And if CCP does have to resort to SP-cap because of these actions, I'm sure I am not the only one done with this game. I love this game but it would be just too much to start all over again. |

The people who managed to do a weekly cap yesterday only gained a 6 day advantage over everyone else. Are you really concerned about this in the long run? Then I hope you show mercy on all the future Dust players who didn't start during open beta. |

I feel like its impossible for CCP to make us happy when it comes to SP. Geesh people. Even if 24/7ers have proto everything, if they bring those to Pub matches, when they lose one they will probably not make a profit. As for corp battles, that's a little tougher. Sure a team of overskilled (SP) players will outmatch you. |

I demand my 45 sp back for getting disconnected during a match.
Speaking from experience when it comes to SP, overall it won't matter if they got a week grinding done last night. Soon enough both you and him will have maxed out that niche you play, and whatever SP you put into something else will then become irrelevant as you only use the SP in the niche you play now.
In other words yeah the grinder may be one week ahead of you, but once he/she maxed out that niche and a week later you'll be equal.
At this point the ones complaining about the weekly reset being done today are the ones that couldn't grind up before todays DT or missed the announcements completely.
Plus, there will always be players that can grind 23/7 while you and me have to go to work, school, etc. New Eden isn't fair. Make the best of it.

I get the impression that people that didnt have a problem with this aren't really competitive. Excuse me if I think the no lifers do not deserve a better suit than me one week in advance. |

Quit your QQ. its at most 285K SP Thats hardly game breaking. Now i agree if CCP was going to reset the servers on Wednesday they could have avoided this headache by not implementing the weekly cap until Wednesday, however for their part the system was SUPPOSED to account for all you gains for the week and ONLY allow you to accrue enough to reach the weekly total. That failed miserably by all the accounts we have read we know this. But that is not the fault of the players and they shouldnt be the ones to be blamed for it.
Moreover there isnt an SP system in the world that is going to be fair to EVERYONE. Why should the game cater to "casual" players with a life vs "hardcore" player who dont have one.
I use quotes because there are plenty of hardcore players who grind and dedicate time in the game but still have plenty of RL stuff going on, i know cause im one of them. Is it my fault i should find myself with a greater amount of free time than you?
Frankly yes the uber grinder who can generate an additional 300K a week beyond the cap is really going to earn stuff quick but again when it take MILLION to max out skills it still means it will take time.
Eventually there will be a ROLLOVER SYSTEM and this system is STILL TEMPORARY AND NOT PERMANENT.
Seriously just get over the QQ, the votes were in and whether it was a daily cap with an increased in soft cap or weekly cap with increased cap at the end of the week the result would have been the same for the uber grinder.
If anything i know for many players beyond hitting the weekly they wont be grinding everyday for the extra 1000-1500 SP per game. They may do so for the next month while they still have a merc pack 30 day booster but beyond that it wont happen for long. I imagine once players hit 4-6Million SP they'll give up on the grind.
Nobody not even Zitro (that im aware of) aspire to proto and max every skill availaible just the core stuff. |

I voted for this system and am happy with the temp. We apparently agree that the implementation was badly timed or reset. Sounds like you are guilty of something, you're getting so defensive. The system was supposed to be a weekly cap not a daily 300k cap.
Your argument is also invalid that people will slow down and any given data reflects this. Your guesswork is shotty and so are your conclusions.
That is besides the point as CCP catered to the same people there capped system is supposed to thwart. |
