Since we just started the SP week today, tomorrow will be the end of the week?

Dates and times posted by CCP are usually in EVE time (which is the same as GMT), therefore the reset of the weekly cap should be happening in this very downtime. And you aren't "screwed out of 200k SP", you just lost the ability to keep up with those that did get a lot of SP since the last downtime (around 23h) if you were in some kind of a race with them.

I can understand that one can be a bit annoyed if he has been there since the last reset and has earned the maximum SP possible in that time (with boosters) and that he now can't keep up. But then again, it's a game - something designed to have fun with - and that level of dedication might be problematic anyway. In a few months those SP won't matter that much anyway (when you are through with your first "basic specialisation" and are expanding to other roles).

But I agree, the timing's a bit unusual.

A dev from a thread I made yesterday said that the people that didn't get any sp yesterday already hit their weekly cap earlier in the week. That was a bold face lie. I wonder what BS logic(lies) he'll use to cover up this? Maybe he'll say zitro didn't play at all last week?

Personally I'm more mad at being lied to than missing the sp. Especially when he spoke in terms like "fact".

I know a public apology is too much to expect... but it'd sure be nice.

Apparently the system was supposed to work the way the DEV described to you, but... and this is a huge Jennifer Lopez butt -- It didn't work as intended. Apparently for some people it did work that way and they capped out quickly. Other people the cap is completely lifted and they got something close to 300k SP.

They didn't lie to you, they squeezed the charmin and we are the unlucky ones without soap on a rope.

It was a lie.... I would have had to play 400 games after I hit cap every day to total the 30k I'm missing. That is not possible.

Your explanation is basically just wait a few months and it will be okay. but the truth is that if you are capping every day your SP should be around 2.5 mil. People getting a 300k boost over the rest is a distinct advantage. I'm not going to do the division but if you got a calculator ready go right ahead. I'm just saying it sucks.

Dude, I'm not so happy about losing out on the SP, but don't think the DEVs are plotting to mess people over. Sounds like it was a really ghitty slitch.

Missing out on SP sucks. Be it through not having time at the right moment and less-than-optimal communication (where you'll have to live with it) or due to bugs (where the lost SP should be reimbursed accordingly).

But it won't matter in the long run. It really won't.
Right now those 300k might be just the SP you're missing for a new piece of equipment, but later on it won't even be half of Assault Rifle Proficiency V (or whatever weapon it is you fancy). And if those 2.6% more damage on your preferred weapon really are the deciding factor between winning and losing a match I will gladly offer you any of my future contracts first. :D

As for the numbers:
30 days should yield a bit less than 2.3M through passive SP and capped active SP (with boosters each). For the sake of this argument I'll just round it up to 2.5M (active SP after the cap and months being a bit longer than 30 days on average and - most importantly - 2.5M also being the estimate you gave on maximum SP). Right now those 300k are 12%, next month they'll be 6%, the month after that 4% and in three months 3%. Half a year from now a bit more than 1.7% and next year a bit more than 0.92%. Assuming the skill cap system won't change in the year, which it probably will.
If you're still this dedicated to this game and getting the most SP you can after a whole year, again, let me know and I'll gladly hire you for any ground work I might have to offer. :D

TL:DR: Take a step back and just enjoy the game. Hezmana, even miss out on a few SP on purpose, it won't be the end of the world, trust me.

I dont think they are plotting either. I just don't like the "we don't make mistakes" attitude. Just be an adult and say " hey we screwed up" must have been another " unintended feature " lol!

I appreciate all the hard word the devs do. That's why I buy arum.

I guess I just felt insulted when I experience an obvious bug(as well as many others)and I'm told "no, its not a bug. You already got your sp Earlier in the week"
