I've noticed from a few Bluebtube videos that new players often fail to reload their guns due to constant instinctive pressing of the run button while moving around. I had the same problem myself for a while, until I had to manually tell myself not to run during reload (even if it felt like the animation was complete), because it feels unnatural to abort the reload process every time you click sprint.
I'd suggest relegating reload cancel to weapon swap so the feature is still there, but in a way that requires you to specifically request it rather than stumble over it mid-fight. |

I'm of a mind that you should finish reloading when you stop running; aside from that, it makes perfect sense that you might have some difficulty reloading any weapon at a sprint. |

I'm pretty sure CCP is going to allow reloading while sprinting in the future (can't find the link though). |

Just to clarify I'm totally on board with them not allowing reloading while sprinting, just that the way it's currently implemented leads to a lot of second-guessing the animation system and accidental cancels that feel nasty, especially to new players. |

I think one thing that may be contributing to this are the animations. On ARs (or was it snipers.. can't remember) the reload still needs that one final slap after the clip is in. And if you sprint between inserting the clip, and the final slap, all the bullets in the clip you just inserted magically disappear.
Even though I know this, I still fall for it sometimes. Trusting the animation too much.
The best solution of course, would be that there are "checkpoints" in the reload (like, inserting that damn clip), so that once you're past the checkpoint, you don't need to start all over but from the last checkpoint instead. |

they should have different reload actions for the different lvls of rapid reload. 0 would be a slow flustered (haveing difficulty gettin the clip in to the slot), it would improve up to lvl 5 where the clone reloaded with ease. |

the thing that annoys me is the animation for the reload is completed but it hasn't reloaded yet, so you see your gun reloaded start running and then realize it didn't actually reload :( |

this isn't call of duty were you can just trick the reload animation to performing a little bit faster because you can't be patient enough to wait literally 3 seconds. Come one 3 seconds. Are you that much of a n00b? |

It took me a while to get used to this in Dust, but I'm on board with not being able to reload while sprinting. It's realistic. When you're sprinting, it literally means you're running as fast as you can. Try sprinting in real life while manipulating a ten pound rifle. I guarantee you'll run faster hands free.
I do think the end of the reload animation could sync up better with the moment at which the reload is complete.
At the same time, I think the Weaponry Skills to decrease reload time should be in the order of 10's of %, not 2% or 3%. That's way too small of an adjustment to warrant expending hundreds of thousands of SP. |
