Nanohives seem to experience lots of problems, here is what I experience a lot:
1. Nanohives disappear on throw. happens when throwing towards solid objects, the nanohive will disappear completely not giving out ammo or showing.
2. Nanohives do not show on radar or on screen. Sometimes deployed Nanohives are not visible on the radar or on the screen but they still give ammo.

In my experience, the Nanohives and Uplinks that tend to disappear are the ones that are too close to a wall, or partially in a wall or object, so they can't deploy.
Never had a problem with them not showing up on map, unless they failed to deploy in the wall I threw them in. |

it would be nice if you could drop them instead of throw them reason for this is the direction you throw those is if it happens to be an uplink that is the direction you spawn facing.. and if you were in a corner where throwing would expose the drop link because the corner is not deep enough it is sure to get killed rather fast... also it would be nice if the nano hives, drop links actually recognized the walls so they wouldn't slide into the solid objects |

1. Remote Explosives do the same thing, been like that since i've been in beta (since MAY 2012)
2. Uplinks and Remote explosives do as well, i think it might be a memory problem
Both have been discussed by ccp and i think next patch will fix |

-they seem to dissapear the most on hills , something to do with the terrain.
-sometimes the bubble doesn't appear but you can still recieve ammo
-enemy nanohives don't reveal themselves until you are within 2 feet , then they magically show up. |

nanohives and uplinks become active when they stop "slipping" on the ground after being thrown.
if you throw them on uneven surface the will slip nonstop, sometimes the slip movement is so marginal that you dont see it.
this is a huge problem . |

Yeah the nanohives not working when thrown is annoying, because not only does it waste time, it also uses up one of my nanos. A hive that doesn't deploy shouldn't be consumed.
This seems to happen when the hive is thrown and isn't completely flat on the ground. I personally like to throw mine near corners and walls, otherwise they slide into undesirable areas. But doing it this way I lose almost 50% of them. |
