Ill lay it down all on the table for you all. I've been in numerous corps. I feel like such a ***** yes Iknow. Let's name them. Blue print originals, zion, tritan indus, pxrxo, even tried running a corp. Miserably failed.just don't have the time. Multiple different reasons why Ieft those corps. not gonna say why. But now my point. I understand why all these corps play politics and have drama. Its just the way its meant to be. Just like running a business. You have your employees who are fantastic and the others who do minimum work. Then your competition all around who you'd love to eliminate. Id love to be in a corp. But with all the drama and having to walk on glass around some of these egotistical folk. I can admit that it sucks not being apart of a elite well managed corp that isn't filled with things Ido not agree with. Not that anyone can pick and choose what corp they wanna be in because they can't. But I'm perfectly content running solo though a very lonesome yet satisfied days I have. Is this bad I'm content running this way? |

Loads of solo players.
I'm one of them. I just don't have time to commit to a corporation and it makes me feel guilty when they are asking for particpation and I just can't manage it.
Your only problem is finding a battlefield niche thats useful to your side. Hint: sniper ain't it.
Also you still have to work with your team in the battle.
My biggest obsticle at the moment running around a stealth assassin shotgun scout is that organised squads absolutly murder me. There is also something quiet deflating about killing two guys in said squad. Getting butchered then watching those guys you just killed getting revived. |

Solo players are a little part of the problem currently in Dust.
You are ineffective by yourselves but refuse to use teamwork to overcome semi-decent random squads therefore redlining begins.
Then the QQ begins.
Then you start effecting the other players who use teamwork because you have complained about every weapon/vechicle possible that they become useless throught heavy handed nerfs.
People leave for the new shiny game.
Dust dies slowly.

Sorry, but thats a lot of assumptions.
Who says we refuse to use teamwork. Ive never QQ'd about anything in this game that I can recall, I've made my bed and I happly lie in it. Infact most of the complaints about OP weapons in this forum come from players in Corporations.
Your confusing bad players with bad posters. Its not the same thing.
Ive never redlined snipered. Ive never sat at the back in order to grind isk/SP (Ive seen "top players" doing that). Infact Ive been in battles against two organised squads of player corporations with a bunch of newberrys on my side who gave up half way through and started sniping and been the only fella "still trying"
The issues isn't actually squads or corps in instant battle, the issue is people trying to protect thier K/D ratio, which in my opinion only serves to limit players not empower them. I don't give a damn about my K/D ratio. I play dust to have fun, sometimes I die horribly, sometimes I win. The important part is I'm just stoked to be playing an FPS set in the awesome eve universe.
I don't want to be rude to you, your entitled to your opinion but to be honest the only person QQing in this thread is you. I don't criticise your playstyle with half arsed assumptions, now have the common courtesy to reciprocate.
Thanks. |

I will tell you why I'm lone wolfing for now. Running with corps that don't teach or rally around newbros. I've been in too many squads where the vets are more interested in farming WPs than teaching. It's a game and I get that you want to cap your SP and go do something else, but come on man!
The first few impressions a new player has to your corp are HUGE. I already know that you kill it with fire, that's why I joined your squad. Honestly, I'm doing better without the frustration of terrible squad leaders.
Truthfully, I'm learning more from Imperfects without running with a single one of their players than I am in actual squads of other corps. If I take one more headshot from Sleepy's sniper rifle or Taste's HMG I'm going to redrum a kitten, but I'm learning.

From the other side: Try being a Squad Leader with people who don't listen. You do everything you can to organize your squad, but the guys just won't budge. 'Hey, we have C undefended let's go fortify it.' 'ANFAFNAFANANANNANANANAN IMA GON SIT ON THIS RAILGUN TURRET SHOOTING THE MCC LALALALA OOOO SOMEBODY DROPPED A TANK IMA GON SHOOT REDS NAO BYE TTL' All the while enemy is slowly capping all the objectives.
I understand soloing and I also like it, no problem with that at all. Only that when trying to get organized thing going, no show. Frustrating. |

Technically, I'm in a Corporation.
But I'm not really in touch with anyone else in my Corp on a regular basis, so while I've occasionally run into Corpmates in battle, my Corp hasn't really been a major focus for my gameplay. I mostly run solo - but while playing alone, I try to attach myself to other players (squadmates if I have them), and I also try to keep an eye out for when I'm squad leader (if you miss the chance in the Warbarge, hold R2 then click R3 while in battle. If the order wheel comes up, you're SL), and issue orders wherever possible. Usually just marking a squadmate or a critical location as a defend order, but sometimes I get a bit more creative and actually suggest timing-relevant actions.
Also, I'm co-leader of a gaming clan that's been running for a couple of years now, and my alts are running a Corp for my clanmates, so now that we've passed our final planned reset, I'm working on building a decent foundation for when more of my gaming clan show up. I'm planning on coming back into active gameplay as Garrett soon, but I've had a lot going on outside of DUST as well as the push for my own Corp to get off the ground. |

I'm not sure if this worked for the majority because all the pubs were filled with bots, but it did work for me.
I think Dust should do the same; let W/L be the bragging rights. |

Its catch 22
If you run solo you always run the risk of having a ******** team and having to carry them
If you run in a corp it all depends if you agree with ther goals (short/long term) and if you get on with other players in the corp and if not then its back to solo or looking for another corp and the cycle continues
When i run solo its annoying if you get a really bad team but its annoying in general knowing that they dont have your back or know what they are doing or even they are micless and its always worse in skirmish
With a corp it makes the pain of playing with randoms go away to an extent since you know you should be able to count on them and vice versa, the problem is finding the right corp |

I'm not sure if this worked for the majority because all the pubs were filled with bots, but it did work for me. I think Dust should do the same; let W/L be the bragging rights. There are two core reasons Brink flopped:
1. The fact that it was targeted towards competitive clan play and had no lobby system or any way to ensure you'd be on the same team as your friends when joining/creating a lobby.
2. The PC and 360 version had game-breaking bugs and major graphical glitches, and the majority of console review sites were shipped the 360 version of the game to review before they released the game (with a day-one patch that addressed most of the problems that got its score docked by reviewers).
Obviously, point 2 contributed to a heavy drop in sales because of terrible review scores, but point 1 was the deal-breaker for a large portion of the target market. It was ONE "innovation" too far. |

Being part of the corperation that i am in gives me the opportunity to play with some great players that have many different roles, however i still prefer to run solo. I play the game completly different as a solo player compared to in a squad.
I dont do to bad on my own, i tend to die more in a squad because i sacrifise myself for the good of the team.
Play the game how you want to play it, its not a job, its supposed to be fun. |

Yeah you have it alll wrong. I use team work all the time. When squad leader I use it to my best ability
I don't snipe I'm a full on assault and forge gunner. And in my npc corp I help constantly with teaching new mercs and guiding them in the right way.

I agree with everything you are saying but its so much more intense when I am carrying my team and we win by one kill or barely win skirmish. It makes it oh so much sweeter to work and earn that battle. Yeah its a breeze with skilled corp mates. But sometimes id like a challenge. |
