I've seen Laser Rifles, MDs, Scrambler Pistols, SMGs, and just about every other weapon except Nova Knives take care of AR users.

Yes the most used is the AR, and it's the most versatile, but nothing makes it better than the rest.

the blasic AR we have now is a blaster , soon we'll get railgun and laser, and I suppose minmtar some day but at least we have the HMG.

If you would have read the post. I said take out snipers and tankers. We are talking about guns only.

I have yet to see a good AR user cry about hmg...their fine easy to counter

There is an easy way to run a check. Take the top 100 KDR players (make it a condition that:

1. each one of those has at least 1k kills so that you are not considering ppl who only played a few games boosted KDR and then stopped playing

2. Tank kills are excluded

3. Snipers are excluded (SR is heavily weighted to be a high KDR)

So out of this 100, determine how many are using AR (say it's 80% - what the author said).

Now compare it to the % of AR users say in the median 100 players (the average group): if there are more AR users %wise in the top 100 players - why yes, this would be pretty good evidence that AR is OP.

default AR is just plain superior to most other weapons in general
it'll get beat out by niche weapons in their niches (an hmg and shotgun will of course beat an AR in close range alpha)
but it's just way too versatile, and does too much damage given its versatility

it's just the regular AR though. breach,burst, and tactical ARs are all fine (and objectively inferior to the regular AR)

it needs a small damage nerf, but also much more prevalent kickback and cone of fire bloom (which is basically has none of right now)
