The Imperfects is one of the best corps out there. That is a known fact. However, there are certain reasons why. Imperfects have people specialized into every role. They know their strengths and weaknesses. And each of their players is above average (except for some, mentioning them would be mean ). This creates the Imperfect effect. It's been called by other names in others games, like MAG, or Killzone, or Battlefield, or EvE, and Halo as well. Basically, the Imperfects affect the balance of the game as they are. A compact, compressed, collection of some of the best players in the game. Usually when this happens, the major corp/clan is hated, and admired, and more and more "noobs" start piling in, hoping to cash in on the fame. Individually, their best players have skill, even if they don't work as a team, they can still hold up. Personally, I think this is a negative thing, you want competition, yet you have the competition join you. If the "talent" was spread around, more competitive games could be played, better pub matches and overall corps. But don't worry, the players are learning. Quickly, other corps will rise. And then, sooner or later, it will all fall apart. Wishful thinking? Why does it have to fall apart. Why can't it keep expanding forever and ever. Sure some want competition but hey complete and utter control and dominance does have a nice ring to it too. Edit-- Not everyone good is asked to join and ALL come of their own choosing. If those players felt they could do well in their previous corps and had a purpose and a vision maybe they wouldn't leave in the first place as some have not already. Just saying perhaps its best to build your own brand than try to somehow take pot shots at ours
ok so your asking why it wouldn't fall appart huh?? lets look at the past and present shall we. Since dust is relatively new will look at eve as it is similar in terms of meta gaming, and in game functions. I believe it was around 08 when the mighty "BoB" (band of brothers) fell. This was the result of one insider who finally got fed up with his corp and had complete director access. He turned every corp red with the alliance, booted every corp out of the alliance, and effectively had BoB destroyed within one month, i would like to point out that there empire at the time had owned 1/4 of null sec. Until then they were considered the most powerful in the game, and now they dont exist.
In the recent past Against all Authorities lost all of their space and is more or less a roaming pvp alliance now. A shell of what they used to be considering they've been in the game for the last 5 years atleast. Given they are still relatively powerful, but from what i heard, bad leadership costed them that much.
Now if you look at the present. If one were to go and look at todays sovereignty map for eve, they would notice three massive power blocks with a bunch of smaller alliances smashed between them. This has been referred to as the "big blue donut" because of how most of the ingame alliances are on good standings for each other and therefor dont fight each other. HBC, CFC owned more then half the map, but now because of individual groups inside each alliance, things are beginning to fall apart. Its a matter of time before the equivalent of world war III happens between these massive power blocks, and i cant wait for the day tranquility goes down because of how many people are in one area battling it out.
The point im trying to make is that everything falls eventually, it doesn't matter how powerful as a whole the imperfects are or any other corp for that matter. Eventually most of the corps playing this game is going to tare themselves apart from the inside, and it all starts when one member of said corp gets his toe stepped on by the bloated ego of another, or when the leadership of that corp does something stupid. rarely will the bigger corps fall to anything short of that, and i can gaurantee that it will happen several times in the near future. |
