As they should be.
I personally dislike facing Heavy's. You know it's possible to solo them, but it takes time and skill. Heavy's are almost OP. Backed up by a Logi, they are, and have the right to be. But the one biggest weakness of Heavy's is their drop suit skill tree. Sure, Heavys right now are having the time of their lives, strutting around going 15+-0 with their Broadsides and type 2s. But don't even bother skilling up, cause this is as good as it gets.
People who complain about Heavy's haven't skilled up into proper suits. It's painfully obvious. I can, in an A-Series suit, solo a lone Heavy with little difficulty if he has skill, and I have cover. And I know that I used a 30 k suit to take down his 100 k suit. All that's needed is time, his shields may go up, but they pop easily, and unless he has a logi, his armor isn't going to rep decently fora while, allowing me to pop in and out, slowly but surely breaking him down.
Heavy's are close to being OP. Give them a slight buff and they will be. However, with the options available, you too can break them down today. |

I currently play 3 playstyles:
Heavy Dropship Pilot Shotgun Scout
Now, my heavy has over or just around 1 million SP invested into various heavy related thing. The rest of my SP is spread out into dropships. I have no sp invested directly into anything related to shotgun scouts.
So...why again is it that I score better using my all militia shotgun scout with no SP invested....than I do with my 50k Heavy with 1M SP?
You know what I do, when I see a heavy waddling towards me? I disengage. I move back behind cover, and I work my way around him. Heavies can only dictate their engagements against bad or flatfooted enemies. If you are aware of your surroundings, and halfway descent at the game, you can make the decision to lure him after you, or just plain reposition yourself.
EDIT: Damn Zitro, you cry a lot these days |

Heavies definitely look fine to me. They have been nerfed enough. And I would know as I have faced them countless times. They're not immortal. |

But they are not so might want to rethink that Considering tanks can go 30+-0 without much skill, (I've seen a SOMA go 61-0) , I'd consider them borderline open too. And Heavy's and tanks aren't the same. Unless you want to compare a tank to a LAV , like a Heavy is to a Scout, then we can say that tanks are completely OP. |

Heavies suits are UP, ADV/PRO HMG range/accuracy is slightly too high(not OP) just a touch too high,
Make the suit better and the weapon range slightly smaller and accuracy should not be increasing with greater spool duration and you've fixed it, o/w if assualts and logi can start using HMG as the one trailer demonstrates you will see exactly how out of balance a adv/proto HMG is when fitted on type B assault suit or a vk.1 logi suit.
But i agree Heavies need to be heavies, i can drop most heavies 1v1 inside of spitting distance with flux/md literally hopping over their fire like double dutch and kill them, they simply cant turn fast enough in close range to stop me, and if they do its cause i was getting shot by someone else or i screwed up. |

Only time I use a heavy is during initial spawn in where there is usually 1-2 free kills. In almost any other situation there is a better fit. |

I use a heavy myself and while hopping around is a good idea, it only works against dumb heavies. I never shoot low, I always aims at the head or upper torso, just so I can hit those jumpers. To the OP, the reason you don't see heavies moving beyond type 2 suits and Broadsides is because we spend points in other areas. In my case I spend points in defensive skills, like Armor Repair and also in weapon skills. Also, HMGs take a ton of CPU, so until you skill Heavy Drops 3 or 4 there is no point in wasting SP on HGM Operation beyond LvL 2 HMGs. Additionally, Type 1 suits have better armor than type 2 suits. Type 2 suits trade armor for more shields. A type 2 suit has 320 shields while a Type 1 has 100. The Type 2 drop has something like 420 Armor, while the Type 1 has I think 745. Just as with every other Suit, the Suit Skills cost a ton of SP, but so does the Weapon Operation skill, such as Assault Rifle Operation. So most heavies that I know, tend to use those points to improve Weapon Upgrades and Armor or Shield skills. Since Weapon Upgrades reduces CPU use of HMGs we can get into better suits and weapons and still have enough CPU to be able to fit our modules. |

Heavy's are not OP, just to many noobs playing .. for instance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pf34ZIRC_Lc&list=PLzaCfm1KKuvtHy3rEwXL2WrfveM_W-jEs
6 kills, 16 seconds - with no shield, and low armor!
I cant recall how many times I've seen other players not move and fire at me .. they just sit there firing like they are going to get me before I get them .... |

What noobs don't take into consideration is that heavies can't do **** by themselves. They have no equipment slots, and generally a low amount of high-low slots- they may be good out of the box, but they need a logi to hold their hands, give them ammo, and repair their armor, or else a great heavy won't last as long as a great assault. |
