I use a Full HD-TV for both my PS3 and my PC. For the moment I haven't gotten into getting myself a HDMI-Cable for my PS3 as I forgot to buy it when I bought my newly bought PS3. For my PC, when I connect a HD game and the game stays in black screen for too long my TV brings no signal and I have to restart the TV to gain signal again (It is meant for TV connection, not for gaming). It's no problem for me at all. I just load up the game, turn off the TV, wait for 10 seconds and 'vola'. But here is the issue, MMO games don't wait for 20 seconds like single player games. It's fine for now, there is no AFK report yet while I turn on my screen.
You might be wondering, this is just the loading screen when you open the game. It should not affect while in (battle). Here is the issue: The longest black screen I have ever seen in a game is the waiting time while connecting from the lobby and the battle itself. It is long enough for the TV to loose signal, meaning I will be inactive on the spawn-map for the TV to start up. My TV takes long to start up. 5-10 sec after a turn off. Then it takes about 10-20 sec to turn on again. It's some power-green bleble system. Takes longer to turn on for the saving of power.
So, the solution. It's as simple as this: The waiting time from lobby to battle; leave a picture instead of a black screen. It can be a picture of a chicken for what I care. Just don't leave it blank. Black colors are Alpha. My TV screen sees through it as empty space and looses the signal.

There should be an option in your TV's menu to not 'sleep' I turned it off on both TVs, 1 a samsung from 2008 and a Sony from just last year. Fixed this issue |

I checked the settings for sleep mode and it says it is off. It seams to be off by default so that is not the issue:S Any other ideas? |
