Friendly fire is introduced? Me and some corp mates got thinking that... I can't see any good coming from calling down a giant mass of bright, deadly, powerful light from a massive space destroyer in... well space, straight down onto not only enemies but also teammates... how will that work if/when they implement friendly fire?
would there be a warning to all friendlys in the middle of the screen that yells "GET OUT OR DOOM AWAITS YOU!"
or would they go a more... sciencfiction approach and have it so that the deadly rays of death only kill people who don't have a special... I don't know frequency running through their dropsuit that's provided by the hiring people... I don't know...
thoughts? |

Mic? do blue dots? can you do that? and how many of them would A: hear you, B: well... hear you. I know before I got involved in clans/corps/whatevers I always just turned mic volume down because I didn't care what some guy (or girl) was telling me to do.
just stating that people probably won't care or hear over the mic, some people just need visuals |

Considering New Eden's backstabbing - there probably won't be a warning. Imagine a spy squad leader who gains the WP, then uses an EVE orbital to nuke a tank column, dooming the nullsec District takeover. The fallout from such an event could allow the opposing side to turn the tide, and maybe even provide sacrificial "deep cover" for another spy who's clawing at the corp wallet...
Generally, the only thing that should really prevent accidental friendly-fire O-Strikes is to properly choose your orbital location. Any warning mechanic will nerf the Dagger of Backstabbing - a core New Eden device. |

There is a FanFest trailer called "A Future Vision" in which the orbital strike is indiscriminate. It implied that the capsuleers who called it in killed his mercs. |

It should be fine. There probably won't be FF in pub matches (like others have said). And when you do use them in corp battles, it'll just mean that you need to be very careful and highly coordinated. This way it adds tactical value and isn't just a giant "killstreak" to be spammed as much as possible. |
