Plenty of these threads around... so I made another since nothing has been done about them. Beta testers have been asking for Warpoints when we stop hacks on objectives (rehacks) for 2-3 builds now. Hope we get some warpoint loving soon. |

I agree.
Seems pointless (ha!) to stop a hack at the moment considering you just preventing yourself from scoring another 100 WP. |

Yeah. I usually ignore stopping a virus because I know I won't get any points. It's only when the virus upload is complete that I immediately start hacking. |

Considering it takes twice as long to re-hack an objective that is being taken, it really should have a WP value. |

Yeah, I was so surprised when I didn't score anything. I never got why we don't get rewarded for counter hacking. Though, I still go for the counter hack. I'm all about wining the game and running the objective. |

Well, let's consider this for a second. Perhaps the reason why the Devs haven't implemented a WP reward for stopping a hack is because people actually do sit around and wait for the virus to complete itself before re-hacking and getting 100 WP for yourself.
There's is something of merit though to stopping a hack despite no WP reward. Sure you might not get anything ... but the player who initially attempted the hack doesn't get his 100 WP either, nor do the other players get their 50 WP (for those who may have assisted the hacker). That in and of itself has value to the team, as there are more than enough ways to get 100 WP ... maybe not in one shot ... but you catch my drift. |

It should get you WP, not as much as a full hack, but probably at least 50. You get WP for kill assists and even hacking assists, effectively playing defense should get you WP. |

Gotta disagree here. Counter hacking is harder as the enemy (probably not alone) must have just been there to hack it and your allies can no longer spawn there. On top of that the point of Dust is to be a team game. Defending your teams things should be just as if not more rewarding than just sneaking around capturing.
But yes, THERE NEEDS TO BE POINTS FOR THIS. |
