its not much different, the menus and layouts have gotten shinier and the game is getting more polished, but the controls, movement and gameplay are still clunky.
Anyone else feel its just not as smooth running as other games? I mean were in what build now and the mechanics are still, Eghhh comparable to moving in molasses, But sarcasm aside, I can see why its so clunky because its being done by a company looking to not make a solid profit off of it and with no profit in mind, you dont have too much of a budget, even if your taking money from your other game that is making over what it cost to run it.
Other than that, its come along alot since whenever it first started, though this brings me back to the e3 build, didnt we have mechs innit? Im very confused >.<

Less floaty than before game is much smoother only complaints control wise from me is melee, grenade throws, and figuring out which sensitivity is right for me. Also vehicle controls.
New build this month-ish and blogs are on the way. |

Epic troll post but I'll bite
Don't think the controls are that clunky, no more clunky than halo to be frank, and Ive played a lot of halo.
Since you can't remember if we had mechs in E3 its likely you're mis-remembering being in the closed beta at all. If you had actually been in closed beta you would have remembered clearly the lack of giant stompy robots on that one map we played over and over in said build. Just saying.
(PS: its called dope for a reason).

I think it has improved since June. It's not the greatest gun play ever in the game but it has been fun to play again. Hit detection and lag are much improved since release, something I thought wouldn't be fixed for a while. It's not perfect but it is fun. CCP need to polish it up a bit and then give each match meaning to make players want to log on, rather than just work on their kdr. |

I kind of suspect the next big update will wow us. Despite the step backwards in the last update, it sounds like the devs are chugging along. |

I agree with movement, I'd like to be able to strafe as I sprint and not have my sprint cancelled every time I turn the stick a tiny amount to try and look what's around me. Also the sensitivity is still way too low, even maxed out X-Y controls at 90 in the settings it's still pretty sluggish to turn around and things like that.
As an ex closed beta tester myself I feel the game has come on leaps and bounds since then and the game plays a lot better than it did and obviously looks a lot more like a current Gen game too. I'm not entirely sure what biotics you were using in your suit to have seen mechs around the place, but i'm guessing it was strong and black market.
I think with any game like this it's constantly going to be improved upon. I'd rather CCP took their time and made this the best it can be rather than try and rush to release an obviously unfinished game like far too many companies seem to be doing at the moment. |
