ABOUT ME Before you guys say I am a tank driver or I am a heavy and hence I am asking you guys to stop calling for nerfs; I wants you all to know I am a straight up logistics infantry who dabbles with dropship. Most matches I run around with a needle in my hands ONLY. Probably only have a gun in my hand for a total of 20 seconds. YES I am a MEDIC.
So this is a list of things you can do to counter possible any perceived OP builds. (Keyword is PERCEIVED)
DISCLAIMER: Most of this is useful for random pubs. However I am sure Corps can benefit. However obviously corps will be more organized and leaders will tell people when to switch out and to what.
Before you begin the Battle:
Unlike other fps games, in Dust 514 outside the battlefield is just as important as inside of it. What you do outside the battle (inside your quarters) WILL have major effects on the battlefield. So this is a list of things EVERYONE needs regardless of specialization. I am a logistics infantry but I have these.
Skill points into WEAPONRY. I do not care if you are a medic like me who never uses his gun. PUT POINTS INTO IT. As a logistics officer I have 3 points into it. If you are primarily a killer PUT MUCH MORE.
You may ask why should a support role medic put points into it? Keep reading.
Skill points in FIELD MECHANICS. Yes it makes a difference. I made the HUGE mistake pre-wipe of barely putting any points into it. I was getting rolled. No matter what role you play: Killer heavy, assault killer, logistics medic, hacker etc. I do not care. You need points into this skill. Obviously some roles require more points into this skill than others.
Why you ask? This time I will tell you. No matter what role you play, even if it is the medic who is AWAY from battle and on the complete back lines, if you are dead you cannot play your role. PERIOD
These 2 skills, regardless of what role you are skilling for MUST have points into them.

EQUIPMENT MLT/Milita gear is NOT useless. It is there for a reason.
Carry sets of the following fittings. These fittings anyone can use because they are MLT.
Why you ask? Because during a battle you cannot become narrow minded and run the entire match with only our primary fitting. Sometimes the battle requires us to switch out. Yes sometimes we do not need to switch for example if everyone stays infantry and is in an assault suit. But you can bet that is not the case. Sometimes you will have heavies and HAV that you just can't ignore. So sometimes I switch from my medical fitting to another one to get the job done.
Plus all these fittings are cheap and can destroy expensive enemy gear.
(For those who complain about switching, even in CoD when we had to destroy the kill streak choppers we would change into a build that had some sort of rocket launcher or our team would get owned. If we buck passed it turned out everyone did it. However a team that never buck passed and an entire team switched out we killed that chopper in seconds. No one likes that dude that JUST snipes)
1st: MLT Heavy drop suit and MLT forge gun Slots: DO whatever.
STRATEGIES If you put points into weaponry and field mechanics you still do more damage and live longer than some people in the standard or even advance gear because they did not invest SP properly.
This is your AV class. If you see a tank owning your team. Go to a supply depot (or die) and put this own. If the HAV is surrounded by these guys you just killed an expensive piece of equipment with just MLT gear. AMAZING!!
(Now stop complaining about tanks and use your heads. Do not shoot the tank with an assault rifle. If you do please uninstall the game from your ps3 you n00b)
2nd: (This is for Ambush mainly but can be used in skirmish) A MLT Scout with an MLT uplink and Cardiac Low slot (to run faster, not the one that makes you run longer). And an SMG (or what ever you prefer) Also do not forget shield recharger.
STRATEGY: You guys hate it when you choose default spawn point and die because you spawned in front of the enemy. Well now you spawn and throw an uplink at your feet then run to a desired position on the map. (Like a sniper perch or high ground or a really high building in the middle of the map which is really hard to get to. USE COMMON SENSE). And drop your 2nd uplink. Now if your entire squad did this you have 4 uplinks throughout the map that are in really good and safe positions. SO if one uplink is hot you can spawn somewhere else and it will not be random.
STRATEGY 2: Furthermore remember what I said about being in the MERC Quarters is just as important. And that everyoen should have field mechanics and weaponry?
Well if you followed my advice you can now easily DESTROY heavies
So check it I have 3 skills in weaponry and 4 in field mech. I didn't not invest much because after all I am a medic. (But if you are an assault or scout you should damn well put more points into these skills.) So with this very build I have killed heavies. How you say? Because I think. First and foremost do not run head on at a heavy. Strafe left to right and run at him. So you are always approaching him diagonally. Then once you reach him you circle strafe around him. Guaranteed you either killed him or he has 1hp left and your team can kill him.
Also use cover and speed. For example the ambush map with the large high platform in the middle. It has 4 cubes on it (or 6). I 1v1 a heavy with ALL MLT gear. HOW? Well I shot him then ran around the cube, got to his other side shot him again and ran back to where I came from and shot him again. Many times he got my health down but my shields recharged and I slowly took him down.
If you are an assault you have more points i WEAPONRY and FIELD MECHANICS than.
