I would like to suggest a new AUR item which allows the ability to A)Have highlighted text for suggestions/feedback B)Enables the ability to post "nerf X" or "X is OP'ed" threads (this ability to now be locked without said AUR purchase).
The tokens can start out at 40 AUR each and function as an Augmentation allowing for 1-7 days worth of enhanced posting depending on the version purchased.
Such an item would be a great way to highlight suggestion/feedback threads and the inability to post nerf threads without it would make the feedback section useable once more as the number of duplicate nerf threads would diminish.
D514 is not P2W, but that shouldn't stop it from being P2QQ

Now in all seriousness I've been seeing a series of misunderstandings lately with feedback posts, specifically the nerf threads (primarily weapon related).
Having something kill you without having been given the chance to understand why it did/did it so quickly can be frustrating and detract from the enjoyment of the game, as such the following elements are presented to help players have a broader context regarding Dust mechanics (this list is in no way intended to belittle anyone/imply that someone should already have known about items on this list).
In no particular order I give you Things that can make weapons seem OP'ed
- Stacking Damage mods (these are currently broken, thus providing more damage output than is intended. So if you go up against someone running 2+ mods the incoming damage is indeed broken but it's not because of the weapon being used).
- "Glass cannon syndrome" (there's a trend among some players to focus their Skill Point investments purely into damage saving defense for later. This trend can cause things to seem OP'ed twice over, once for someone who's being hit by that dps and doesn't know the character and their gear are 100% focused on dps alone. Then a second time for players doing it who don't understand that while they may have invested +1 Million SP and a lot of ISK their defense is still Militia level because of their focus on dps)
- Rock, Scissors, Shotgun (Dust uses a "counters" or 'rock, scissors, paper' modality as such there are certain contexts in which a given weapon/fitting are functionally weaker than another. This is not a lack of balance, it is rather a balance paradigm centered on teamwork rather than "Ramboing". If a shotgun blast point black to the face kills you that's expected, just as that Shotgunner caught at Assault Rifle range will die without being able to fight back. That AR user can get burned down by a Laser within moments if he engages at the Lasers optimal range, while that same Laser user can watch in horror as a Scout who got in close runs down his beam, soaking the damage and then Knifes him to death.
- Headshot (headshots do more damage in Dust, anywhere from +65% extra up to ~200% extra depending on the weapon used. Combine that with the lack of indicators for the merc taking damage and the dps can often seem quite unreasonable as the player has no way of knowing they've just sustained multiple headshots)
- Teamwork is OP'ed (Focused fire is a highly effected tactic employed by coordinated squads. It can burn you down in moments and leave you wondering if anyone got the number of that truck. The in game hit indicators are only directional so if you're taking fire from more than one source in the same arc you'll not be able to establish that without a direct visual. This can be further confused if any member of the squad uses weapons like the Mass Driver or HMG)
- Unlisted modifiers (This is something that badly needs a fix. There are damage modifiers which cause some weapons to do more/less damage versus armor/shields and/or vehicles/infantry. This is the same sort of effect as the unlisted headshot modifier. These are in game but absent from most of the weapon stat blocks leading to confusion/frustration.
- Kill feed bug (There is currently a display bug which, when triggered, will inaccurate assign damage to a weapon not actually used for the kill. For example a rail gun installation being displayed via the feed as an Assault/Laser rifle.
Obviously someone using an Assault Rifle to kill your Tank would be broken, but that's not actually what's happening it's just a 'bug in the matrix'.
I'm sure there are others I've missed, but I hope the list above will provide some useful information so that other players can spend more time enjoying the game and less time frustrated and wondering "WTF just happened"/posting nerf threads.

Dust acutally uses the imbalanced- balanced system to encourage learning of new counter tactics, right now though tool box is a bit empty. |

Judging from the feedback forum this weekend, the thread here needs to be viewed by more players.

Can we get a Sticky for this one, and maybe some clean up on the horribly out of date stickies spread across the forums.

Actually, I have killed a tank using a Scrambler Pistol, but only because he was at 48 armor. |
