running around with a shotgun at 15 fps, dipping to 10 or as low as 5, is not acceptable. i'm not sure if there are plans to optimize this, or if it'll be launching like this. i very much hope it's not the latter |

It's one of four things:
1. Your internet sucks.
2. Your PS3 sucks.
3. For some reason your copy of the game sucks (probably caused by 1).
4. CCP hates you and you alone. |

For me it depends on the map, some are good, some are bad, but I do hope that the standard will be raised. |

It is unlikely that what you are experiencing is frame rate issues, unless you have found a way to access the debug tools within the engine and therefore you can see an accurate frame counter I would suggest that what you are actually seeing is lag induced frame skipping, this is an entirely different problem and more likely to be an issue with your connection to the Dust/Eve battle servers. |

You are a troll and don't know what your talking about.
I get the "FPS" issue too. I think its actually lag not FPS. They can look the same. There is a ton of lag and texture pop in. This tells me that its an issue with the connection to the server.
Also this is not just me. I have 10 friends all playing and all see the same issue and we live all over. |

This is hard for me to think its true. We all are running 5400 rpm 2.5 inch SATA HD. Unless you have other games skipping, i think its hard to prove that its your hard drive. I have no other game that has this "lag/fps" issue. It was so bad last night the game was almost un-playable. |

Line harvest and ash valley are the worst maps performance wise. Smoke rips apart even Manus peak if you try to zoom through it; I'm drooping to near 5fps zooming through smoke compared to almost ok 25fps zooming besides it. |

I can't really say I've hit any framerate issues, personally.
I've had skipped frames due to lag, but I've never had my FPS consistently drop. |

well that is usually an indicator something is wrong with the system if other game are aslo screwing up.
Anywyas chances are there is an optimization issue, they have yet to make a pass last time I asked becuase not all the build foundation is in yet. Soon its all in and solidified then theyll do a pass and hopefully everything will run better.
After all its a game in progress. We're just let in much earlier than most other games do. |

fps has been and is consistently bad, and it's not my internet connection. It's the #1 issue with the game, and must be fixed before release. |

it's not my connection, i have all ports forwarded (plus static DHCP, UPnP enabled) and pinging the dust servers results in about 20ms of ping, which is extremely low.
all other games run fine
the FPS is just low in general, i know what 30 FPS feels like, and this is more like 15 during anything other thank standing totally still

If they're going to be adding more visual details, especially foliage, in the next update then I would expect a frame-rate optimisation to come with it or else we will likely suffer abysmal drops. |

I'm getting the same 15 FPS lag.
Internet connection lag != low frame rates. If for some CRAZY reason the console loses frames due to higher ping, then this game is doomed. I've played many games (such as planetside2, WoW, Eve-online, etc and my FPS does not drop due to a high ping. The worst you will get is a bit of teleporting or rubber banding. Teleporting and rubberbanding have nothing to do with FPS lag. FPS lag is local system induced and rubberbanding/teleporting is network induced.
The biggest problem is that the low FPS effects the sensitivity of your controller or mouse. It is as if they have vertical sync on. |

This game has a very large memory leak that contributes to the frame rate issues. More specifically, any "desert" maps with the blowing dusty wind effect will send your frame rate crashing, especially if you play them back-to-back. It'll destroy the sound engine too. |

Restart playstation fully , dust collects data and stores and your game after a long session begins to lag FPS wise. |

This is not technically true, and not even necessarily the default anymore. If anyone has replaced their drive at some point, it may be a 7200 rpm drive, but besides that, I am running the new Ultra-Slim PS3 with 12gb Flash Storage (Kinda like a mini-SSD) soldered on the board and no HDD at all technically. Plenty of room for DUST for now.
As a side note, this is actually a lot faster than the standard HDDs in the PS3, I have consistently faster loading times in DUST than my brother's PS3 and plenty of friend's PS3s. The Texture Streaming is significantly better aswell, though we all know it could use work.
When I actually add a drive, it will be a very fast SSD, doesn't need to be huge I don't have a lot of games lol. My PS3 mainly gets used for DUST. :) |

I had this after playing for couple of hours framerate became unplayable, I restarted my PS3 and that resolved the problem.

1. Stop blaming his internet 2. I have 10 friends that play this game all have lag issues / fps issues 3. Its not him its CCP 4. Game needs patched. Constant fps/lag/and graphic issues. 5. Anyone says its "your internet" i consider a troll and not helping getting the issue fixed 6. If it is his HD he would see it in other games.
I am so surprised to see people say its the internet connection and its your hd. I really think most of the dust 514 community doesn't understand what they are looking at. There is either a problem with the lag/fps or both. There is a million posts on this. I do not understand why 1/2 the community is still dismissing it. Any one who has written or built any type of code can tell the second the game starts there is a problem. It is obvious there is a problem with the build we have. |

It seems to mostly limited to KB/M users because we can jerk our character around really fast, i know what 100 FPS, 60 FPS 30 FPS and sub 30 feels like.
This game on some maps dips well below 30, making accurate aiming go out of the window, especially at close querters, some people notice frame rates & drops very well while others cannot.

True and not to mention that they are most likely still running the game in debug mode.

You guys are all insane if you think this game runs at a stable FPS, not even close. In close range fights it's about 15 FPS. If you use the fastest suit with a shotgun or a submachine gun, you can kill anyone close range seeing as you can move faster than the game can track.
Hell, just use the beat down...do you see that animation? Do you think that animation is at least THIRTY frames? Not even remotely close.
For someone who said "your ps3 sucks" rofl whut they all pretty much have the same hardware. And it's not "lag." Lag is the time it takes for the server to shoot information back, it's measured in miliseconds. This game plays like a flip book being flipped at half the speed, especially during big fights, on the big maps, or close range fights. |

i've noticed some massive fps issues(literally slide show) even with small maps usually unplayable and requires quitting the game or restarting the ps3, it seems to be an issue with the match just not loading right or something but i have no idea
also sound glitching seems to go hand and hand with fps issues at times

The little glitches I can deal with. The run animation being disabled and your guy just zooms forwards, the "hacking" UI blinking in and out, your whole body disappearing whilst throwing a grenade, hitting L1 to zoom in and the Neocom comes up. What I can't deal with is trying to take a shooter serious at sub 30 frames, that's laughable. I see some people on these forums asking for SIXTY frames, which is never going to happen I don't think any console besides COD runs at 60 frames. The gun fights in this game are enjoyable, it has a nice TTK (time to kill), with guns that aren't the easiest to aim, with a nice headshot multiplier, but all of this is for not if the game is at 5 FPS |

When PS4 client becomes available i dont think its unreasonable to ask for 60 FPS. Honestly that might just be the real reason so many people play COD. It feels responsive. People kinda like that. |
