In some situations shooting the ends of the player model will produce the honeycomb effect that indicates you're hitting your target but does not actually damage the enemy. I'm not sure if this only effects specific suits, I see it happen a lot whenever snipers have their forehead sticking over a hill. Shooting their forehead will produce the honeycomb shield effect but none of your hits will actually register.
The same thing happens in gunfights. I'll be hip-firing with my weapon, getting the honeycomb effect and sound effects for successful hits, but the enemy will take no damage.
It seems to have nothing to do with lag as this happens when players are holding completely still. |

I experience this as well, when sniping an immobile target their hit box isn't aligned with their body. on edge of them is invisible but on the opposite side you can shoot in the air surrounding that edge and do damage. |

I've had the same issue and it doesn't seem lag related to me either. The problem also doesn't seem to be related to one particular weapon or type since I've experienced it with many so the player hitbox theory does seem more plausible. |

Bumping this because I experience the same thing when I try to counter snipe.
Also, I'm no longer convinced the hit boxes for the male and female suits of the same type are the same size and/or hit detection is somehow off for the female suit. It would be nice if CCP looked into this. |

Wow, Really?
I was wondering about that just several months ago. Turns out, so was everybody else including the developers.
They are working on it. |
