As title says, this should have been fixed awhile ago. It is seriously making the game out of balance.
If you have a suit with 3 mids, that's 30% more damage, plus 2% on weaponry per level so now 40% add another 2% per level of damage on various guns per skill level, it's now 50% more damage.
So there are guns going off with 50% more damage then the rest due to stacking, yet people want things nerfed cuz they're OP ect.
Fix it CCP, this is crazy and should have been a priority in balancing. |

Do you have any reason to think the stacking penalty isn't working? They should only be seeing about a 36% increase in damage.

This is not only a game balance issue but a community issue as many new players haven't heard of this bug and thus are under the mistaken impression that the damage being done is considered balanced for the weapon, thus leading to many excessive nerf/buff threads when in fact it's a mod issue, not a weapon issue.

Duvolle + 10% weaponry + 15% AR proff. + (4*10=46%) mods = total of + 71% more damage.
Having a 250 K protosuit with a mere 412 HP seems like a fine tradeoff.... |

Current damage with 3 damage modes and weaponry level 5 and gun damage skill at lv5 100*1.1*1.1*1.1*1.1*1.15=168.3715%
Percentage bonus are multiplied not added, so it's worse then the 55% people add up by adding bonus together
If stacking penalty worked it would be 100*1.1*1.1*(1+.1*.87)*(1+.1*.57)*1.15=159.8776%
The forth mod is hit very hard, 10% bonus would only be 2.8%. So instead of making 168.3715*1.1=185.2087%, It makes 159.8876*(1+.1*.28)=164.3645%
So, stacking penalty is not additive at moment, it is missing completely. What is shown in fitting matches what it would be with no penalty |

Yep, and its been like this for awhile
Thanks guy for doing the math ;) i'm way to lazy.
But, here we are nerfing things left and right for a long time, yet look at the biggest balance problem of all.
Makes me wonder how much was actually OP or just over damage mod'd.
IMO we can't be doing anymore balancing of weapons of any kind until we get the stacking penalty fixed. |

They need to fix the damage mods before overbalancing guns, I think people are just abusing the broken damage mods and making a gun look way more powerful then it actually is |

I do agree the dam mods have to be reworked and soon. Nerfing of guns only serves to give larger advantage to higher sp players or DAM fits
The long range weapons/MD are at advantage here if they can run DAM fit instead of a BUFF fits. Hence why the hate for uber snipers/laser/MD will appear in the next month or so.
